The Veterans Service Day Project is almost here.

In partnership with the National Parks Conservation Association, veterans will come together for a day of stewardship, teamwork, and outdoor service connected to the Great Sand Dunes region.

This event reflects what Foxhole is all about:

People showing up.
Working together.
Building community through shared experience.

Volunteer space is limited, and we’re looking forward to spending the day alongside veterans who want to make a difference while connecting with others.

Summer has a way of bringing people outside.

Longer days.
Campfires that last a little later.

For veterans, those moments often feel familiar.

Some of the strongest connections we make happen when there’s no schedule, no rush, and no reason to be anywhere else.

That’s what The Foxhole Project is about.

Creating opportunities for veterans and families to gather, share experiences, and spend time together outdoors.

Not because there’s a program to attend.

Because community is worth making time for.

As always, we’ll be gathering at Lucha’s Tacos Tequila & Taps in Alamosa.

Good food.

Veterans and families reconnecting with community.

Just people coming together the way it should be.

After a week like Memorial Day week, gatherings like this matter even more.

Today is Memorial Day.

For many veterans, it’s a day filled with reflection.
Names remembered.
Stories revisited.
People missed.

At Foxhole, we believe one of the best ways to honor those memories is by continuing to build strong communities with the people still standing beside us today.

That means checking in on each other.
Showing up.
Pulling up another chair around the fire.

Service creates bonds that last long after the uniform comes off.

And days like today remind us why those connections matter.

Wherever you are today, we hope you spend some time with good people and remember those who are no longer here to sit beside us.
