Not every Foxhole conversation has to happen around the same table.

Our Discord community gives veterans a place to stay connected between Campfire Social, outdoor experiences, game nights, and other Foxhole gatherings.

You can jump into a conversation.

Join a game.

Share something useful.

Talk about hobbies.

Ask a question.

Or simply hang around and get familiar with the community before showing up in person.

There is no pressure to be the loudest person in the room.

Just like our in-person gatherings, Discord is another place to pull up a chair.

As fall settles in and our outdoor calendar slows down, we want Discord to become an even stronger part of how the Foxhole community stays connected.

Community should not disappear just because the weather changes or the big outdoor weekends slow down.

The Foxhole Project is built around staying connected throughout the year.

Sometimes that means a few days outdoors.

Sometimes it means Campfire Social.

Sometimes it means jumping into Discord for a conversation, a game night, or just checking in with people you have gotten to know through the community.

The setting changes, but the purpose stays the same.

Give veterans and families places to keep showing up.

Keep the conversations going.

Keep creating opportunities for camaraderie after service.

As we move deeper into fall, that consistency matters even more.

The fires may get smaller.

The nights may get colder.

But the community does not have to go quiet.

Let’s put the experience in this community to work.

What is one skill you could teach another veteran?

Could be something practical:

🔧 Vehicle maintenance
🔥 Fire building
🎣 Fishing
🪚 Woodworking
🌱 Gardening
🍳 Cooking
🧭 Navigation

Or something completely different.

Maybe you know photography, gaming, welding, budgeting, leatherwork, computers, home repair, or how to make coffee strong enough to wake up an entire platoon.

Not every week needs a big event.

Strong community is built in the quieter weeks too.

It is built when someone checks in with another veteran.

When a conversation from the last gathering keeps going.

When somebody shares a skill, offers a hand, or invites someone new into the group.

The Foxhole Project creates events and outdoor experiences because they give veterans opportunities to connect, but the event itself is never the end goal.

The goal is the community that grows around it.

As we move into fall, that remains the heart of what we are building across the San Luis Valley.

A veteran community where people have reasons to keep showing up, keep sharing experiences, and keep building friendships after service.

Big weekends matter.

So do the ordinary Tuesdays in between.

That is where community becomes something lasting.

Campfire Social is tonight.

So we want to ask the people who keep showing up:

What makes you want to come back to a community gathering?

Is it seeing familiar faces?

Meeting somebody new?

Good conversation?

Having something consistent on the calendar?

Knowing you can just show up without having to explain yourself?

Or maybe it is simply getting out of the house and spending a few hours around good people.

From Waypoint back to Campfire Social.

This Friday, we are gathering again at Lucha’s Cantina for our monthly Campfire Social.

You do not need camping gear.

You do not need to sign up for a weekend.

You do not need to know anyone before you walk through the door.

Campfire Social is one of the simplest ways to get connected with The Foxhole Project.

Grab some food or a drink, pull up a chair, meet other veterans and families, and spend the evening around people who understand the value of camaraderie after service.

Veterans, service members, families, and community supporters are welcome.

There is nothing special you need to bring.

Just show up.

The Waypoint is behind us, but the reason we gathered is the same reason The Foxhole Project exists every week of the year.

Community takes time together.

A few days outdoors gives people room to slow down, share meals, sit around the fire, tell stories, laugh, and get to know the people beside them.

That is the foxhole mindset in practice.

It is not about one retreat, one event, or one weekend.

It is about creating places where veterans can continue building camaraderie and friendships after service.

Sometimes that happens miles from home around a campfire.

Sometimes it happens around a table at Lucha’s Cantina.

The setting changes.

The community continues.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Waypoint and helped turn an idea into a weekend shared with fellow veterans.

Waypoint starts today.

Before everyone settles into camp, here is a question for the community:

What is the best part of the first night of a camping trip?

Getting the tent set up?

Finally sitting down?

The first meal?

Watching the fire get going?

That moment when everyone realizes there is nowhere else they need to be?

Donations like this do more than give us a vehicle. They help us build the practical capacity to serve veterans, families, and our community through gatherings, outdoor experiences, outreach, supplies, and future programming.
