GrannyCon was a SMASHING SUCCESS!!! And we could not have done it without the support of these 55 local businesses, who stepped up as sponsors, agreed to host the the check-in and afterparty, became bingo stops, donated time and talent, gave incredible raffle prizes, provided childcare, music, and food during the event, and helped us spread the word about GrannyCon! Be sure to visit and support these awesome establishments, and feel free to pinch them on the cheek and say thank you for making Alameda such a great place to be a granny! 😘

’Twas the night before GrannyCon, and all through the town,
Alamedans prepared for granny bingo—second round.

The tickets had sold out—much to dawdlers’ chagrin,
Over fifty local businesses had also said “we want in!”

A group of Granbassadors had rose to the occasion,
Aiding with powers of charm and persuasion.

The raffle prizes were gathered, a marvelous stash,
Gift cards and goodies that could ignite a hot flash.

The bingo cards waited, all proofread and neat,
Ready to be whisked all over Park Street.

The OG Grannies who had schemed and planned,
Held walkie-talkies tight in their capable hands.

“It’s year number two!” someone called with delight,
“Three hundred strong—we’ll be quite the sight!”

From cardigans to brooches to sensible shoes,
Tomorrow the island would be filled with the news:

Of laughter and scavenger hunts all through downtown,
Of grannies on missions to make cancer rates go down.

This auspicious Saturday, the whole town would see
What happens when grannies unite joyfully.

So rest up, dear grannies, the wait’s almost done—
Tomorrow brings lots of GrannyCon fun!

With laughter and kindness and community strong—
The GrannyCon glow will last all year long 💛
