I have an Amazon order ready to ship to our Florida address totaling $4,645, with equipment and supplies that I’ll take down to The Nest.
This purchase will help us take two important next steps at the farm:
🐐 Launch our goat cheese production.
We are now producing almost 6 liters of fresh goat milk, and we’ve already started selling the milk locally. When I return, together with our German volunteers, we’ll begin making cheese for The Nest Market. This order includes the equipment and supplies we need to get that little business properly started.
☕️ Upgrade our coffee roasting.
Until now, I’ve been roasting our farm-grown coffee on a $100 home roaster. It has gotten us this far, but it’s extremely inefficient for the amount we want to produce. The order includes a much-needed coffee roaster so we can begin processing our coffee more efficiently and prepare it for sale.
Little by little, the goal is for The Nest to produce more of its own income through what we grow and raise on the farm — eggs, goat milk and cheese, coffee, vanilla, meat, and other farm products.
