Our Heritage Cooking Contest featuring chicken salad had stiff competition. When you have a room full of great southern cooks, you would expect no less! This years’ first place went to Becky Martin with her Southern Chicken Salad, second place Pam Ward who prepared Mexican Chicken Salad and third place to JoAnn Laney who made Central Grocery’s Olive Chicken Salad. Drum roll please!🥁🥁🥁

The annual Heritage Cooking, sewing and photography contests were a great success again this year. We want to express our appreciation to our judges who had their work cut out for them. Our recent board meeting entertained candidates running for office in our May elections. Hampton Harris, candidate for US Congress district 2 and Jay Hovey, running for re-election for state representative.

After a great meal prepared by Penny Walters, the board discussed several upcoming events including the Heritage cooking contest, photo and sewing contests to be held May 2nd at 2:00 p.m. Eastern at Crawford Methodist Church.

That’s a wrap! The 2026 Women,s Leadership conference has come to an end. There was lots of great SWAG, educational breakout sessions, updates from our legislative guys, Farm City Awards and so much more. Thanks to all the staff and the State Committee that put the conference together! 💓
