I am researching the surnames STUTTS, RICHARDSON, and MYRICK. I have wills, Cemetery records, and many more items, i will try and add to this page. I lived in Lauderdale Co, Alabama for 18 years and did a lot of my research at the Florence Courthouse, many hours going to cemeteries, and also at the
Florence Library. My main interest is James Calvin MYRICK who married
1. Catherine STUTTS Canaday widow of Edmund Canaday.

A tribute to a fine man. Edward Earl Myrick died Feb 23, 2022. We loved you.
Earl Myrick was my main reason for starting my research on the Myrick and Stutts Lines. All these years later we have Lauderdale Connections. A place we can share our information on our Ancestors.
Earl's Myrick and Stutts lines are as follows:
Edward Earl Myrick
John Baptist Myrick and Mattie Spencer Tidwell
John Baptist Myrick and Mary Hester "Hess" Foust
James Calvin Myrick and Catherine Stutts
John M Myrick and Margaret "Peggy" Garner
Francis Myrick and Susannah Carroll

If you would like further info on any of those people, please let me know.
With great thanks to Sally Richardson Richardson we managed to put headstones in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, for James Calvin Myrick and Catherine Stutts. Earl Myrick's line will live on for generations to come.
Much love to the Myrick family.

As most of you know. I have done Genealogy for over 30 years now. Mostly for a very dear man. Edward Earl Myrick. Long story cut short. His line is Catherine Stutts 1826.
I am not related to him or the Stutts, or so I thought. I lived in Lauderdale for 18 years. Moved back to Australia in 2000.
Bought all my work with me.
So February this year, my Mother and I do a DNA test to trace our own family ancestry. And low and behold we have Stutts Cousin 5th to 8th generation. I must admit it was a bit of a shock.
So are you related?
Katherine Milam
Kimberley Gibson
Jon Fretz
Timothy Butler
Joshua Cochran
Kim Littrell
and 3 others with just initials.

If your Stutts line has the surname KERR I'd love to hear from you.

Hestra/Hester Anne Collins (known as Annie) buried Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Lauderdale County, Alabama. Born Dec 6, 1872 died Oct 18, 1881 age 8 years. Tombstone very hard to read the last time I was there. Listed on the 1880 census of Lauderdale County, Alabama with parents Rice Garland Collins and Harriet. Parents can be found living in Hardin Co, Tennessee in 1900 and 1910 census. In the 1880 census of Lauderdale County, Alabama Rice and Harriet Collins were living in the home of William Carroll Clemmons and his wife Francis Ann Higgs. The connections comes in here, as he was the son of Curtis Clemmons and Nancy Canerday.

I have been asked what the connection to Adolph Foust and Lou Allen Foust was to John G David Foust. So here goes.
David Foust born 1804 married Mary Stutts born 1809. Two of there children were William M Foust who married Martha Jane Stutts and John W Foust who married Mary E Myrick.
William M Foust and Martha Jane Stutts had a son named James G. David Foust born Feb 12, 1864

John W Foust and Mary E Myrick are the parents of
Lou Allen Foust (buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with new stone)
and Adolphus Foust

John W Foust also married Terrie Matilda Smith and they had
Thomas Aaron H. Foust (buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with new stone)
Thomas's sister Mary Hester Foust married John Baptist Myrick

So that is the connection.
Thanks Liz Moore

James Calvin Myrick born August 12, 1791 Moore County, North Carolina. Son of Francis Myrick and Susannah Carroll died abt 1880 in Tishimingo County, Mississippi. James married Sallie Richardson in North Carolina. Sallie died Lauderdale County, Between 1841-1850. James is listed on the 1850 Census aged 59, with some of his children. He later moved to Tishomingo County, Mississippi with some of his children. He died there about 1880. His grave has never been found. His wife Sallie is believed to be buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, but this is also not proven.
James and Sallie had 10 children that we know of.
1. Syntha Ann Myrick born March 30, 1818 married Sims Lewis Fields. She stayed in Lauderdale County, Alabama. I have a list of her children if anyone wants them.
2. Elias C. Myrick born 1820 died in Arkansas. Married Ann Elizabeth Porter and moved to Arkansas. I have a listed of his children if anyone wants them.

9. Sarah Myrick born 1839. I do not have anything further on Sarah.
10. Henry Myrick born 1841 . Nothing more on him.

Please Note* This is not the same James Calvin Myrick as who married Catherine Stutts Canerday. This has now been proven via DNA testing to be an Uncle of Parham K. Myrick. who is a son of John M. Myrick and Peggy Garner. So John M Myrick 1785. and James Calvin Myrick 1791 were brothers.
More DNA testing is being done to prove that James Calvin Myrick born 1826 NC is also a son of John M. Myrick and Peggy Garner. If you are from this line and are willing to under go DNA testing please contact me.

Thanks

Thomas A. Foust was born July 1863 to John W. Foust and Terrie Matilda Smith. He died on Feb 7, 1914 and is buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Lauderdale County, Alabama.

I have ordered a new tombstone as the one below, is broken and lays flat to the ground covered with dirt and leaves. It was face down until Judy Myrick Miller and myself turned it over. It is not known if he is buried at the place we found the broken tombstone. Thanks to Sally Richardson, he will have a new one placed in the Cemetery, as close as possible to where we think he is buried.
