Leadership doesn't require an elaborate title; it starts with people who care enough to take action. That's what The Democracy Collective (DemCo) is all about: Clevelanders turning their ideas, passions, and commitment to their communities into meaningful change.

If you're ready to make an impact, applications for DemCo's 2026–2027 cohort are now open! Through this collaborative leadership program, participants gain hands-on experience creating positive change while building the skills, tools, knowledge, and confidence to become effective leaders and champions for equitable civic engagement.

We must do better for our women veterans, in Ohio and across our nation.

We must do better for our women veterans, in Ohio and across our nation.

“I am a retired U.S. Air Force combat veteran (just shy of 23 years in service) and grew up as a military brat (Dad is retired from Marine Corps). Women are not the majority in military service and are underrepresented. Because of the lack of representation, that often means a lack of support. Women veterans have unique challenges they face and I am running to raise money to help support my sisters in arms work through those issues.” – SMSgt Jeanie Mayo, USAF (retired)

Thank you for your service, Jeanie! It’s great to have you on our team.
