In the United States, more than 100,000 lives are lost each year to drug overdoses, with opioids driving the majority of these tragedies. Many of these substances don’t come from the streets—they come from unused prescriptions sitting in homes, accessible to family, friends, and especially young people.

That means prevention can begin with something simple.

Awareness.
Access.
Action.

Drug Take Back programs—led by local law enforcement—have already removed millions of pounds of unused medications from circulation. Each pound represents risk reduced. Each action represents a life that may never be lost.

And it starts with you!

Egg Hunt season is here... today our club collaborated with Towpath Credit Union to support setting up the Middlebury Egg Hunt. 30,000 filled plastic eggs were placed all around the field and playground at Mason CLC!
In true Ohio fashion it snowed slightly while we were placing the eggs and the wind was determined to participate in the hunt by rolling our eggs all over the pavement. I'm sure the kids had a blast though and we were thrilled to be part of it!

The end of winter crud that has been going around has hit our club. Our in-person meeting today is canceled.
We hope everyone feels better quickly as we look forward to spring activities!

Akron Rubber City and Lakemore Lions Club donated toiletries and socks to the Akron Emergency Overnight Warming Center.

It's predicted to be 25° and below for the next 5 nights, so the Akron EOWC will be open from 7:00pm - 8:00am. They provide free shelter, food, and clothing.

Yesterday our Akron Rubber City Lions Club met at Quarter Up for a meeting and service project- put together 80 hygiene bags to donate to the Akron Warming Center!
Quarter Up was a great meeting spot on an early Sunday afternoon since it's kid friendly at that time and our youngest Lion Cub enjoyed playing games while the adults talked business!
We are excited as we look toward spring!
