Welcome to June at NAMI Aiken-Barnwell (SC)! We certainly enjoyed a wonderful Mental Health Awareness Month in May and thank you for everyone's support and participation at our two main events in Barnwell and Aiken. But at NAMI, mental health awareness is a EVERYDAY mindset and practice for us.
Moving into June, we have support groups and educational programs on the agenda. We also are operating our NAMI Aiken-Barnwell Warmline, where call volume is increasing and volunteers are needed to be trained to take calls.

A new Connection Support Group will start the first Saturday of the month at 2pm at the Family Y in Graniteville. A second Connection Support Group meets the third Saturday at the same location and time. A Family Support Group meets at the same time at the Y on Third Saturdays.

More support groups will be announced this month!

A NAMI Peer-to-Peer Virtual Class will be offered starting June
29th from 6pm to 8pm. This is a 8 week class. More information will be posted here.

​Honoring our heroes means supporting the minds and hearts of those who made it home. Let’s commit to listening without judgment, breaking the stigma and connecting people to care.

Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in the U.S. since 1949. Each year, millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental health condition. In May, NAMI joins the national movement to raise awareness about mental health.

Each year, we fight stigma, provide support, educate the public and advocate for policies that support people with mental illness and their families.
