As I enter my third and final year as President of the NTFIA, I am eager to see what we will accomplish together in 2026. It has been a privilege to serve, and I look forward to passing the torch to another dedicated member in 2027 to ensure the continued growth and evolution of our Association.

Looking back at last year, my primary objective was to expand our educational offerings. I am proud to report that we achieved this by offering 10 classes. A significant portion of this success belongs to our Education Committee Chair, Carmen Tomko, who has been exceptional in her role. We aim to maintain this momentum with a strong lineup of classes for the year ahead.

My focus for this final term is to increase membership and member participation. To that end, we are actively seeking volunteers to join the following committees:

Historian
Education Committee
Membership Committee
Bylaws Committee

2025 has been a great year for NTFIA! We hope to continue this momentum into 2026. We have created a survey for our members to take about this past year, https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfoy7XRBanR-203tLLB35u9EgjhCRSddOjmy6slmpSsDOvTig/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=110490412103818992094. Please look at this and give us some feedback so we can make this a better association for everyone!

Also, memberships will be due as of January 1. If you pay in December, it will go towards your 2026 dues. Membership dues will remain the same at $35 for an individual and a maximum of $350 for a department. https://www.ntfia.com/become-a-member

As fire investigators, we've all seen the aftermath of a Thanksgiving dinner gone wrong.

With Thanksgiving just three days away, we remind our community (and the public!) to practice extreme caution with deep-frying turkeys.

🔥 Ensure the turkey is completely thawed and dry. 🔥 Keep the fryer outdoors, off wooden decks, and away from structures. 🔥 Monitor oil temperature constantly.

Let’s work together to keep the "red trucks" in the station this Thursday.
