We were honored to join the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation last week as they celebrated 40 years of supporting and strengthening communities across southern Minnesota!

It was an inspiring evening reflecting on the impact SMIF has made over the past four decades—investing in entrepreneurs, supporting families, and helping small towns thrive.

As an affiliate fund, the Southland Community Foundation is proud to be part of this important work and to help carry that mission forward right here in our community.

🌟 Grant Recipient Spotlight! 🌟

The Southland Community Foundation is delighted to announce that the Adams Lions Club received a 2025 Q4 grant for their heartwarming "Totes for Teachers" project!

This initiative is a wonderful way to show appreciation for the hard-working educators at Southland School District and Sacred Heart School. The grant will help support:
🍎 Providing essential school supplies for elementary teachers in Adams.
💵 A donation to each teacher’s school supply fund to help equip their classrooms.
📚 Supporting approximately 150 students by ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed.

We are honored to partner with the Adams Lions Club in their mission to serve and strengthen the Southland community!

🌟 Grant Recipient Spotlight! 🌟

The Southland Community Foundation is thrilled to announce that Southland Elementary Robotics received a 2025 Q4 grant for their innovative Robotics Program!

This program has been a staple in our area for over a decade, sparking interest in STEM and building essential life skills for our 4th and 5th graders. The grant will help support:
🤖 Purchasing an updated VEX IQ System Bundle, including a new robot 'brain', sensors, and motors.
💻 Hands-on experience in building, driving, and programming robots.
🏆 Competitive team opportunities for 15-25 local students each year.
🛠️ Building a foundation for future success in middle and high school robotics.
