Parents and Friends of the Band,
This is a new “bag policy” that will be in effect at all BCSS sporting events. Please be prepared.
In an effort to improve safety and entry efficiency at high-attendance ticketed athletic events, the Bartow County School System will implement a Clear Bag Policy beginning with the Fall 2026 sports season. This policy will apply to all varsity football and varsity boys’ and girls’ basketball games held at BCSS high schools, including postseason contests and events where BCSS is the host at shared or neutral sites; junior varsity and non-varsity contests will follow the same expectations when held at the same venue immediately before or in connection with varsity events.
Under this policy, all bags entering the venue must be clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC, with the exception of a small handheld bag not exceeding 5” by 7.” Non-transparent bags larger than this size will not be permitted. While most approved bags will not require extensive screening, staff may conduct visual inspections as needed, and guests carrying larger or multi-compartment clear bags are encouraged to allow extra time for entry. Certain exceptions will be made for medically necessary items, diaper bags accompanying young children, and credentialed personnel, all of which remain subject to inspection.
Middle school athletic events and non-athletic facility rentals are not included in this initial rollout, though the district may consider expanding the policy in the future. This change is designed to support a safer and more efficient experience for all students, families, and fans, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
