Northwest Minnesota Aussie Rescue Northwest Minnesota Aussie Rescue is a Non-profit 501c3 rescue specializing in finding loving homes for Australian Shepherds in need.

NW-MN Aussie Rescue is a 501c3 Non-Profit Rescue that takes in Australian Shepherds that need a new home for whatever reason. We also ensure the aussies are up to date on vaccinations, spay/neuter, micro-chipping and any other health issue they may have resolved. NW-MN Aussie Rescue does not pay for any of the Australian Shepherds that come through the rescue. We ensure the dog will not come into harms way and will have a loving warm home in return. A surrender form must be filled out prior to relinquishment of an aussie. Northwest Minnesota Aussie Rescue also works in conjunction with Aussie Rescue of Minnesota and will often work together in finding the right home. All homes will be screened prior to placement of an aussie. An adoption application must be filled out by the potential adopters. We strive to ensure the best possible fit for an aussie into a family, therefore, all aussies are screened carefully upon arrival at NW-MN Aussie Rescue. Should NW-MN Aussie Rescue not have what a potential family wants, often Aussie Rescue of Minnesota (ARM) will be contacted for any prospective aussies that may reside in Elk River, MN where Aussie Rescue of Minnesota (ARM) is based.

And now here comes the dabble! 🐾

We may be Northwest Minnesota Aussie Rescue, but every now and then those adorable Corgi ears and short little legs find their way into our hearts... and we just can't say no!

Congratulations to Amy Kate, who has found her forever home with Sasha and Hunter! We couldn't be happier for this sweet Corgi girl and her new family. ❤️

And another huge congratulations to Pricilla, who was adopted by Ginny and Nicole! This little Corgi has officially traded rescue life for the spoiled life she deserves.

We are so thankful for all of our adopters who open their hearts and homes to these amazing dogs. Whether they're Aussies, Corgis, or the occasional Bulldog, every dog deserves a family of their own!

More happy tails to celebrate, and more exciting adventures ahead! 🐶💕

Where has the month gone?! ❤️

We have been so busy adopting out dogs and welcoming new dogs into the rescue that the days have just flown by! It's been a whirlwind of wagging tails, happy endings, and plenty of new beginnings.

While Northwest Minnesota Aussie Rescue is primarily an Aussie Rescue that occasionally dabbles in Corgis, sometimes we just can't say no to those Bulldogs either! 🐾

Congratulations to Todd on his new companion, Charlie Girl! Charlie Girl is an adorable Bulldog who has officially found her forever home, and we couldn't be happier for both of them.

And a very special congratulations to Melissa and Thomas, who said YES to our two bonded Bulldogs, Angus and Fiona!

Angus is blind and relies on Fiona to help him navigate the world around him. These two are truly a package deal, and keeping them together was incredibly important to us. We are so thankful that Melissa and Thomas opened their hearts and home to both of them. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our rescue, foster our dogs, adopt, donate, and share our posts. Every adoption is made possible because of this amazing community.

A warm heart and open door can change can everything for one dog! ❤️🐾 See the difference a foster home made for little Dixie, who was terrified of people, but quickly learned in foster care that good dogs help you learn to trust, when you’re safe and loved!!! Dixie was in foster care for about one month — and she was adopted, and lives a full, happy life with dog siblings and loving humans!!!

Dixie just needed a chance to see how people can be kind — and rely on a pack to show her how to be loved so she could relax and find her brave new self, after leaving her old fearful self behind.❤️💕😊

She needed someone to say “Yes!”

Meet Dolly! 🐾✨ Dolly’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. She came from living on the streets of a reservation, and has now traded that life for the life of luxury she truly deserves! ❤️

Dolly is a super sweet-natured pup who had to fend for herself at far too young of an age. Because of her past, she developed some resource guarding behaviors as a way to survive. The good news is that she redirects well and is learning every day that she no longer has to worry about where her next meal or safe place will come from.❤️

Dolly is doing amazing in her foster home! ❤️ She sleeps through the night, is making great progress with daytime potty training, and walks well on a leash (although she can pull a little when something exciting catches her attention!).

A whirlwind of a weekend! 15 dogs confirmed for intake, 10 of which arrived this weekend. Our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic on Saturday, and Paws on Grand today! Thank you and shout out to Paws on Grand and for hosting us! Howdy! I’m Yosemite Sam, and I’ve got places to go, things to sniff, and an entire world to explore!

I’m a quick learner who is already showing off my clever side. I’m also a very independent guy. While my siblings are busy doing their thing, I’d much rather be out exploring the yard on my own.
