Introducing Alyson Rodriguez of Alyson R Studio! Alyson is a Kendall College MFA grad and true multi-medium artist: painting, printmaking, watercolor, woodburning. Her work is rooted in a deep love of Michigan's natural world. Birds, plants, nature, and memory all find their way into her one-of-a-kind pieces. Come find her at Ada Township Park on June 13th!

Artist statement: Alyson Rodriguez is a painter at heart but as an artist she enjoys exploring all mediums. She works in acrylic, watercolor, linocut, and woodburn. She enjoys experimenting often. Alyson received a Masters in Fine Arts Painting from Kendall College of Art and Design and has a passion for working in the community to teach, inspire and promote the arts. Alyson’s work is inspired by the natural world including native flora and fauna of her home state of Michigan. She works to create connections with others through her art. Her work evokes memories, shared love of plants, birds and nature and appreciation for the natural world. She works from her own collection of images from travels as well as the occasional plein air experience. The act of creating is special to her and as an artist she combines this with an intense appreciation for the natural world to create one of a kind pieces to share with others.

We are so happy to have Madison Memering joining us at the Ada Arts Festival! Madison is a detailed illustrator and watercolor painter whose intricate, whimsical renderings of Michigan wildflowers, fungi, and butterflies are equal parts stunning and scientifically thoughtful. If you love Michigan's natural world, her booth will stop you in your tracks. Come find her at Ada Township Park on June 13th!

Artist statement: "Detailed illustrator and watercolor painter creating whimsically delicate, yet technical renderings of Michigan species including flora, fungi and lepidoptera through careful observational studies. With curious attention to detail, the artist builds intricate scenes of wildlife based on hikes in nature. Artwork pays tribute and romanticizes these under-appreciated earthly beings to spark education, inspiration, and love in hopes others will consider conservation efforts for our beautiful state."

6/1
We can't wait for you to meet Barbara Danger! Barbara creates hand-built clay and wood sculptures and paintings encrusted with fine micro-mosaic of tiny glass seed beads, found objects, paint, and wax. Her pieces are intricate, vibrant, and utterly one of a kind. Come find her at Ada Township Park on June 13th!

Artist statement: "My beadwork is all about turning tiny, colorful gems and found materials into stories you can touch. I use a mix of vintage, new, and recycled beads to create vibrant, colorful portraits of contemporary culture that weave together pop culture, nature, and history. I am especially drawn to items often considered 'throw-away,' like broken glass, eggshells, and recycled metals. I combine these with treasures collected from around the world, such as African trade beads, glass stones from distant oceans, and vintage ephemera. Drawing inspiration from my European roots and the patterns of the natural world, I love finding the extraordinary in small, everyday objects."
