Grandmother Fights to Give Two Young Mothers a Safe Place to Call Home
This holiday season, a local grandmother is facing one of the hardest challenges of her life: finding a safe place for her 20-year-old daughter and her best friend, both of whom are expecting babies, after leaving abusive situations.
Angela Tattershall’s daughter recently discovered that the father of her child had cheated on her, leaving both women pregnant at the same time. Despite the betrayal and heartbreak, the two young women made an extraordinary choice—they decided to stand together, support each other, and raise their babies side by side.
“I’m so proud of them,” Angela says. “They could have let this destroy them, but instead, they chose strength and unity. They’re determined to create a safe, loving environment for their children, no matter what.”
Angela already cares for two other children, including a 16-year-old and a special-needs toddler. Despite working tirelessly to provide for her family, she simply does not have the space or resources to give her daughter and her friend the stability they need.
In a bid to help them stand on their own feet, Angela has enrolled both girls in online certification programs, hoping to give them skills for the future. But there’s an urgent, immediate need: a safe, livable space for the young mothers and their babies. After searching everywhere, Angela found that a modest, safe RV—priced around $5,000—would give them a stable home.
“This is a family that has already endured so much,” Angela says. “We’re not asking for luxury, just safety and hope. If we can get this RV, it will give them a chance to build the life they deserve, together.”
Angela has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the cost of the RV and asks anyone who can contribute—even a small donation—to help make this holiday season a little brighter for these young mothers and their babies.
