Friends, recently, our Auxiliary Junior Vice President April Wright lost her grandma and she was attending her funeral today down in Texas. Please remember her and her family as they say goodbye. April, please let me know if you need anything. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Parker’s Pub at VFW Post 5408 is looking for a part-time bartender to join our crew.
✅ Must be able to obtain a Cobb County alcohol serving permit
✅ Reliable, motivated, & ready to jump in when needed
✅ Big heart for people (especially our veterans 💙)
✅ Willing to work 1 day a week plus fill-in shifts as needed
👉 Apply in person at Parker’s Pub (VFW Post 5408 — use the red door).
If you’ve got a great attitude, a good pour, and a drive to serve others, this could be the perfect spot for you! 🍹

📅 Here’s what’s happening September 15th–21st:

👉 Monday, Sept 15 – Music Bingo 🎶
Start the week off at 7pm with Music Bingo and a progressive jackpot starting at $2,890!

👉 Tuesday, Sept 16 – Poker Night ♠️♥️
Poker kicks off at 7:30pm in the VFW Event Room.

👉 Wednesday, Sept 17 – Steak Night 🥩
Skip the cooking—steak, potato, salad & bread $18. Kids chicken tenders & fries $6.

👉 Friday, Sept 19 – Live Band – Southpaw! 🎤
Live music starts at 8pm! $5 cash entry after 6:30pm. Members, Veterans & First Responders are FREE with valid ID.

👉 Friday, Sept 19 – Poker Night ♦️♣️
Poker will be in the VFW Event Room, but players must enter through the Bingo Hall.
💵 $5 entry into the pub that night. Poker players can grab an all-night wristband for just $5 to enjoy the pub before or after playing!

👉 Saturday, Sept 20 – Post Lunch, Football & Bike Night 🏍️

🍴 $5 Lunch
🏈 Live football all day
🍔 $8 Dinner at 7pm + raffles, drawings & giveaways
🎲 Bingo in the Bingo Hall at 7:30pm

Dear Community Members, Post Members, Auxiliary Members & Local Businesses,

This Halloween, VFW Post 5408 is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat for our Veterans, their families, and the entire community—and we need your help to make it a success!

Here’s how you can get involved:

🚗 Decorate Your Trunk & Pass Out Candy
Sign up to bring your car, decorate your trunk, and hand out candy to the kids. Fun, festive, and a great way to connect with our community!

🍬 Donate Candy
Can’t make it that night? Please consider donating candy for us to give out. Candy can be dropped off at the Canteen bar starting today.

🙋 Volunteer Your Time
If decorating isn’t your style, we need helping hands to:

Direct cars and parking

Assist with Post booths

Judge contests

Keep the event running smoothly

📅 Save the Date & Spread the Word
Mark your calendars and let your families know—bring your kids or grandkids for an evening of candy, costumes, and fellowship.

Every Saturday, we come together to serve lunch to our Veterans and their families at the Canteen. It’s a small way we can show our gratitude for the men and women who have given so much.

We would love your help in making this tradition special! Please consider signing up to provide a main dish, side, or dessert on one of our Saturdays.

📍 Where: The Canteen at VFW Post 5408
⏰ When: Food should arrive between 12:00–1:00 PM and be ready to serve by 1:00 PM

After dropping off your dish, we encourage you to stay, enjoy lunch, and mingle with our local Veterans—it means the world to them!
