Mattie, member of The Mane Attraction, was honored to receive a $1000 Scholarship in honor of Connie Collier. Connie had a passion for supporting youth involved in the 4-H Horse Program. Among her many works, she served as a 4-H Horse Club leader in Henrico County, and Treasurer of the Virginia State 4-H Championship Horse and Pony Show. Connie was also a Virginia 4-H alumnus and was an exhibitor in the early years of the Virginia State 4-H Championship Horse and Pony Show. There is no doubt that this scholarship will be used wisely and although Mattie is aging out of 4-H, she will continue to be involved in the 4-H Horse Program and give back to the program that gave her so much. It will be an honor for her to pour her passion into the youth just as many of the agents and volunteers have poured into her over the last several years. Mattie is looking forward to continue working with The Mane Attraction Club and Educational Teams. 🍀🐎🍀

We had an informative meeting this evening on horse nutrition. We extend our gratitude to Performance Feeds LLC Abingdon for hosting our program. Thank you Khala Campbell for organizing our meeting and Brian Irvin for sharing your knowledge. Thank you to the "swag bag" sponsors, Kent Feeds , Merck Animal Health, and Performance Feeds. Thank you to Elanco Animal Health for providing our snacks! The kids really learned a lot and had a wonderful time! I am thrilled that we are getting our youth out and involved in the horse industry!

We had a blast at our meeting tonight learning the parts of a rope, how to throw a rope, and how to take care of our ropes. This meeting was led by the Robert's family and was phenomenal. Thank you Charlie, Nichole, Clayton, and Colton! There were plenty of ropes around the "steers" and maybe a couple of kids.
