Art Walk was a blast! Only a sprinkle of rain and the sun was still shining. We enjoyed getting to celebrate spring with the flower faire theme. Thank you to the Center for Contemporary Arts for having us. It’s always a pleasure being surrounded by amazing art and people!

We just wanted to say a belated thank you to the The People's Plaza and Defend Democracy Abilene for giving us the space for our table. We got to meet so many lovely people wanting to make a difference in their community. Thank you to them and everyone who showed up and showed out this past couple of weeks. We deeply appreciate the support we've received in creating a mutual aid network. Together we can discuss and create. Together we are better!🙂

Happy Trans Day of Visibility 🏳️‍⚧️

No matter what this administration says or does, trans people aren’t going anywhere. There may be attempts to keep our trans siblings down or make them feel unseen, but we’ll keep showing up, speaking out, and fighting for their rights.

Trans people have always existed and always will. Today we celebrate you, stand with you, and remind you that you are seen, valued, and loved; not just today, but every single day 🩷🩵🤍

Yesterday we went around Abilene and got to help 40 people and 1 dog. We want to give a big thank you to everyone who helped make this happen! Thank you to those who donated their time, energy, and money to our cause. It was a beautiful experience being able to speak with those we came across. We spoke with a lovely woman who happened to be driving by when we were helping others. She mentioned she wasn’t homeless but was not far from it. If rent continues to increase, she will be on the streets. Crossing paths with her, we were able to help her and her sister save some money. We also met a gentleman who was walking to his job but hadn’t eaten all day. He was happy to come across us and find a meal. Another gentleman's smile got wider when asked if he wanted a cookie with his sandwich. He stated it’s been a long while since he’s had one. We also saw some familiar faces and checked in to see how they’re doing. Distribution day was a success, and we got many eye-opening suggestions on what we can provide next month. Thank you again to all! If you’d like to help out next month, message us for more details. We have meetings every Friday at 6:30 pm at the People’s Plaza, and our distribution happens the last Sunday of the month. From the root to fruit, let’s organize! 🍎

Hey y’all, we are doing a donation drive! We are in need of some items to help distribute around Abilene. On the last Sunday of the month, December 28th, we will be distributing food and other mutual aid items to those in need. With temperatures dropping, we asked some of our houseless friends from last month what items they need that may help them get through this winter when the warming shelters are closed. We are accepting new and used items. You can drop the items off at the People’s Plaza (1290 S Willis St, Ste 116, Abilene, TX 79605) Mondays from 6:30pm to 8pm during our weekly meetings. Any and all donations are appreciated. Thank you!

Items needed:
