Dyess We Care Team

10/16/2026

❤️ 21 VOLUNTEERS. TWO INCREDIBLE TEAM LEADERS. ONE MISSION: MAKE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL FOR THOSE WHO NEED IT MOST! ❤️

🇺🇸 While many enjoyed their extended holiday weekend, a small but MIGHTY group of dedicated Dyess We Care Team volunteers sacrificed their time to make sure our local Veterans, adults with disabilities who have no families, and more than 150 Veterans at the Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring would not be forgotten this Christmas! 🎁❤️

💪 Under the outstanding leadership of A1C Comegno and A1C Botello, our 21 incredible volunteers rolled up their sleeves, washed cars, and worked tirelessly to accomplish their mission! 🧽🚗💦

💰 Despite their tremendous efforts, we raised just over $1,500. While every dollar was a blessing, we knew it wasn't nearly enough to fulfill everyone's Christmas wishes.

🎅✨ BUT THEN... TWO CHRISTMAS MIRACLES HAPPENED! ✨🎅

🎄 MIRACLE #1 — Cordell's ❤️

🎄 MIRACLE #2 — Willow Creek Gardens ❤️

Both of these AMAZING businesses agreed to MATCH EVERY DOLLAR DONATED! 💵💵

🎉 THAT MEANS OUR $1,500 JUST BECAME $4,500!!! 🎉

And what does that mean?

🎁 Our local Veterans and adults with disabilities who have no families WILL have Christmas gifts!

🇺🇸🍦 And our Veterans at the Big Spring nursing home WILL get their much-wished-for COMMERCIAL SOFT-SERVE ICE CREAM MACHINE! 🍦🇺🇸

❤️ Think about that for a moment. Some of these Veterans served our nation decades ago. Today, many face physical disabilities and the challenges of aging. And thanks to a handful of Airmen and two extraordinarily generous businesses, they're going to receive a Christmas surprise that will bring smiles long after the holidays are over! 🥹🎄

👏 To A1C Comegno, A1C Botello, and all 21 volunteers: You demonstrated what the Dyess We Care Team is all about — selfless service, leadership, compassion, and making a difference when it matters most!

❤️ To Cordell's and Willow Creek Garden: You didn't just match donations. You multiplied kindness, restored hope, and helped turn Christmas wishes into reality!

🎅🎁 Sometimes Santa doesn't arrive in a sleigh. Sometimes he arrives wearing an Air Force T-shirt, carrying a carwash sponge, or running a local business with an enormous heart! ❤️🇺🇸

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE DYESS WE CARE TEAM! 🎄🎅

Always #1 to us! Texas Roadhouse has supported our Airmen for over 23 years! They often feed our volunteers who spend their Saturdays helping the less fortunate.

Next time you're at Texas Roadhouse , tell the manager thanks for supporting The Dyess We Care Team! 🤗
