A Bridge of Help (Formerly Joseph Thomas Foundation) Announces Abilene Office Closure
Final Day of Operations: January 31, 2026
After many years of serving families raising children with medical and special needs, A Bridge of Help, formerly known as the Joseph Thomas Foundation will officially close its doors at the Abilene office on January 31, 2026 and suspend all other operations.
Since its beginning, the organization has existed to bring hope, support, and practical resources to families navigating some of life’s most difficult journeys, raising children with special needs and helping those experiencing medical crises. Through medical equipment assistance, family support, and community partnerships, the Joseph Thomas Foundation/A Bridge of Help has stood beside thousands of families, reminding them they were never alone.
This decision was not made lightly. The leadership of Joseph Thomas Foundation/A Bridge of Help is deeply grateful for the unwavering support of the community, donors, volunteers, partner organizations, and supporting foundations who made this mission possible for so many years. Every prayer, donation, hour of service, and shared story helped shape a legacy of compassion that will live on far beyond the organization itself.
To the families who trusted the Joseph Thomas Foundation/A Bridge of Help with your stories, your struggles, and your victories, you will always be remembered. Your courage, resilience, and advocacy inspired more people than you may ever know.
