At the end of the day, it’s the arena that changes you, people that encourage you, and the world that waits for you. This year has brought new beginnings with the benefit of new friends. I’ve met more smiling faces than I can count and encountered some of the best people I’ll ever meet. And it’s mostly because of the Jr. Miss Rodeo Aberdeen crown I had the honor of wearing.

From rodeo performances to obtaining my own share of a gold mine, I’ve found myself smiling in every moment. I’m lucky to have been the places I have and with just shy of 15,000 miles traveled, I can honestly say there’s no place like the great state of South Dakota. It’s known for its beauty and great faces but will be remembered for its hospitality, generosity, and ability to inspire.

Aberdeen, thank you for entrusting me to represent you. It’s been a privilege and I can’t wait to see how the Dacotah Bank Stampede continues to grow. To the sponsors of Miss and Jr. Miss Rodeo Aberdeen, your support is second to none and we are so incredibly lucky to be surrounded by businesses like you. I could list hundreds of people to be thankful for but for now, thank you to everyone I’ve ended up crossing paths with. You’ve all made an impact on my reign, whether it’s noticeable or not. Thank you for an incredible year on the rodeo road! Happy Trails!!

Emily Ackerman of Jamestown, ND. She is the 19 y/o daughter of Cristal Ackerman and currently attends college at NDSU majoring in animal science/pre-vet.

Jr. Miss Rodeo Aberdeen Contestant :

Aleah Bebo of Redfield, SD. She is the 17 y/o daughter of Lauretta and Nick Bebo and currently attends Redfield/Doland High School.

My last rodeo as your Jr. Miss Rodeo Aberdeen was at the Dick Stull Memorial PRCA Rodeo. I got to meet new faces and quickly realized I’d be leaving Colorful Colorado with new friends. My great grandparents were from Sterling and had a farm outside of town. My grandma was crowned as the Miss Logan County Fair Queen in the 70’s and judged horses with the rodeo board president! This was such a special rodeo that I’ll remember for years to come!

Hello Summer!!

I’ve been busy on the road this summer! Here’s the run down -

After Belle Fourche, I headed to Wall, South Dakota, the new home of the Miss Rodeo South Dakota Pageant. I attended the style show, carried flags in the rodeo, and got to shake hands with champion mutton busters. From there, I was Corn Palace bound. In Mitchell, I worked alongside Sutton Rodeo, carrying flags and attending the parade. Then, an overnight haul to Deadwood to make it to the Miss Days of ‘76 pageant. I then stayed the week and spoke to sponsors, fans, and was able to carry flags in the historic Days of ‘76 arena.

It’s been busy and full of fun experiences! It’s been a rodeo season to remember, but I’m not quite done yet!
