The Gift of a Clear Drop
In a small village surrounded by golden fields, a little girl named Sri stood beside an old borehole. The morning sun painted her smile in soft light as she filled a metal pot with water, drop by drop, from the deep ground below.
Every day before school, Sri came here with her mother. The path was dusty, and the walk was long, but the water they collected was life itself for drinking, for cooking, for bathing, for everything.
But not long ago, things were different. The old well near their home had dried up, and the remaining water was muddy. Many children fell sick, missing school for days. The elders worried that the land itself was growing tired.
Then, one day, with the help of people who cared, a new borehole was built. The water that came from it was clean, cool, and safe. Sri’s mother smiled again. The children played without fear of illness. Gardens grew green, and the air filled with laughter.
Now, every time Sri fills her pot, she watches the ripples sparkle like diamonds in the sun a quiet reminder that clean water is not just a need, but a right.
For her, each drop tells a story of hope, health, and a future where no child must choose between thirst and sickness.
Thanks to Aboluganda Goodwill For Children Initiative (AGFCI) for this initiative of clean water.
