This is Atim Penalopi Hudges, a bright 12-year-old with a story of resilience and a vision for the future. After losing her father recently, after many years of her and her mother struggling to find stability in rural Northern Uganda, where they faced severe poverty and increased vulnerability. We brought Penelope into our Skills-to-School Apprentice program to protect her from the dangers of early marriage and exploitation, enrolling her in one of the best local schools in the city.
Penelope now dreams of becoming a medical doctor, driven by a desire to heal her community. To ensure she develops self-dignity and can contribute to her own education, she is simultaneously learning vital computer skills. This image captures the pride and hope she feels today, standing alongside one of our Hometown Humanitarians. By supporting her journey, you help provide not just an education, but a future defined by safety, empowerment, and opportunity.
