In Uganda:
• 1.7 million children have lost one or both parents in the past two decades
• 3% of households are headed by adolescents
• 12.3% of households are headed by youths
• 6% of orphans have lost their father
• 3% have lost their mother
• 2.1% are child mothers without parents

These represent children who need hope, love, and support.

Zima Child Hope Africa (ZICHA) provided reams of paper to beneficiaries who required them as an essential scholastic school requirement. This support was necessary because many families within our communities face financial limitations that make it difficult to afford basic learning materials, yet such supplies are mandatory for children to fully participate in class activities and assessments.

By meeting this need, the support not only eased the burden on parents but also ensured that learners could remain in school, stay confident in their studies, and perform to their full academic potential.

We are deeply thankful to our partners whose generosity made this possible.

Zima Child Hope Africa (ZICHA) last month joined Uganda Child Rights NGO Network - Education working group on an inspiring learning visit to two Participation and Equality in African Schools (PEAS) supported schools. The schools proudly shared their best practices in positive discipline, giving us valuable insights to improve education for all children.
