Mobilizing Resources for Children with Disabilities
In Imvepi, 7-year-old Lydia, who was born with Physical Disability, often sat alone while other children played. Her mother, Esther, struggled to provide Lydia with the specialized care she needed.

Through Civic Initiative, Lydia needs therapy sessions and assistive learning tools. The organization mobilized resources to train teachers and provide Esther with income-generating support. Esther can now have a livelihood , and Lydia is thriving in school, surrounded by friends.

Civic Initiative’s resource mobilization efforts transformed their lives, proving that disability is not inability.

Water as a Lifeline
For years, residents of a rural Ugandan village suffered from a lack of clean water, leading to illness and hardship. Civic Initiative is stepping in with its WASH program, installing hand washing facilities, cleaning of water sources and conducting hygiene training. and families will have access to safe drinking water, drastically reducing waterborne diseases. Mothers like Maria, who once walked miles daily for water, can now focus on their families and livelihoods, building healthier, thriving communities

In Imvepi Refugee Settlement, James, a child with a hearing impairment, endured years of exclusion. Civic Initiative launching an advocacy campaign to combat disability stigma, fostering awareness and understanding. James was empowered to pursue his dreams of becoming a doctor and then educate siblings, including those with disabilities. His journey from marginalization to role model underscores the transformative impact of advocacy in creating inclusive communities​
