Youth Safe Space Update: Laying the Groundwork for Growth!

We’re still in the landscaping phase of our youth safe space and the land is already full of promise! While the walls aren’t up yet, the foundation we’re building is rich with care, intention, and community spirit.

We’ve planted sugarcane and yams and once they flourish, it’s going to be a feast worth waiting for!

Bamboo has been planted to help retain the soil and protect against erosion, especially in case River Rushaya bursts its banks.

This space will soon become a vibrant hub for personal development, mental wellness, and youth empowerment.

Even without walls, the vision is taking root literally. Thank you to everyone who’s walked with us so far. Your support is helping us cultivate a future where young people can grow strong, safe, and supported.

From Inspiration to Innovation: A Journey with C**A in Kyotera

This past weekend, our team from The Purple Ray traveled to Kyotera in Central Uganda to support our partner C**A in designing their upcoming Innovation Centre—a bold step inspired by their visit to our site earlier this year.

Over two and a half days, we engaged deeply with their team, shared insights, and co-created designs that reflect their vision for youth empowerment, creativity, and community transformation.

Our connection with C**A was sparked by a bio briquettes project funded by our incredible partner Giving Exchange last year. That learning visit laid the foundation for a relationship built on trust, shared purpose, and mutual growth.

We’re proud to walk this journey together—and excited to see how this new centre will ignite possibilities in Kyotera and beyond.
