Yamba envisions: Empowered Children and Youth ending the vicious cycle of poverty in their families

Yamba Child Ministry started in 2014 with one orphan named Faith. She was enrolled in school and all of her basic needs were being taken care of. Faith is now in primary three and her grades are promising. 20 orphans and other vulnerable children like Faith are being supported in Yamba child-help programs.

What gives you hope?

Hope is seeing moments like this—children learning, growing, and speaking the future into existence. When kids like these Yamba children are reciting their ABCs with confidence, it reminds us that change is already happening, one small step at a time.

Hope is not always found in big speeches or grand promises. Sometimes, it is found in the simplest moments—like children standing together, confidently reciting their ABCs.

Today, I share a video of the Yamba kids learning and speaking the alphabet. To some, it may look small. But to me, it is powerful. It is the sound of a future being built. It is the sound of minds opening, of confidence growing, of dreams quietly taking root.

Every letter they speak is a step forward. Every voice we hear is a reminder that education is not just about books—it is about possibility.

We are excited to share the successful launch of the *Yamba Skill Up Youth Project* which took place on Friday, April 10th, 2026.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Foundation for Development E and Empowerment (FCDE) for the generous grant that is making it possible to empower 20 out-of-school youth with valuable tailoring and garment-making skills. This initiative is a significant step toward equipping young people with practical skills for self-reliance and a brighter future.

The launch was a memorable moment, witnessed by our former Yamba Board Chairperson, the current Board Chair, the FCDE Programs Manager, and the parents of our beneficiaries. Your presence and support meant so much as we begin this impactful journey together.

📖✨ Empowering Our Children Spiritually at Yamba Childcare

One of the key pillars of Yamba’s child training aspects is spiritual growth, which we believe is essential for holistic child development. At Yamba Childcare, we uphold strong Christian values and encourage children to grow in wisdom, character, and purpose through reading the Bible.

This year, all 23 of our high school students received their own Good News Bible as they began their academic journey. Each child was encouraged to dive into God’s Word, to discover His mighty works, and to understand the beautiful ways He is shaping their lives.

We reminded them that the Bible is not just a book, but a powerful weapon of truth—to guide them, strengthen them, and help them stand firm against the schemes of the enemy who comes to steal, kill, and destroy.

May these Bibles be a source of light, hope, and direction for every child throughout the year. 🙏✨

Lunch With the District Governor

Children of Yamba Childcare were very blessed to have lunch with the District Governor of Uganda Lions clubs International D411B.

Sharing a meal was one highlight but songs, high fives, dancing, are remarkable memories that will never be forgotten.

Yamba childcare is a long time partner of Bwambara lions club a local club that provides services to the community!

Special Visit at Yamba!!!

Today, we had the opportunity to host Ms. Kim, a Peace Corps Volunteer from FCDE, who visited our programs to learn more about our work and community impact.

It was a valuable and engaging session where we shared who we are, what we do, why we do it, and what continues to inspire and sustain our commitment to service. Ms. Kim expressed great interest in our programs and appreciated the positive impact we are making within the community.

We are grateful to FCDE for the strong partnership we share, particularly in their role as our Local Partner Organization (LPO) and capacity-building partner. This collaboration continues to strengthen our work and enhance our ability to serve effectively.

We look forward to continued learning, collaboration, and shared impact.

|Scripture Union Conference|

For three days, Yamba Childcare sent 16 representatives to attend the Scripture Union Conference held at Makobore High School. They represented the organization well and served as good ambassadors.

During the conference, the team was spiritually enriched and learned a new song about the twelve disciples of Jesus.

Today, we celebrate a beautiful milestone in the journey of our children — the Top Class Graduation. This special moment reminds us of how far our learners have come, how much they have grown, and the bright future that lies ahead.

We thank God for His goodness and guidance, for it is by His grace that our children have reached this achievement.

We also appreciate the unwavering support of our parents, the dedication of our teachers, and the leadership of the school management whose commitment continues to shape strong foundations for a strong future.
