We at Ruhija Community Project, we have all long participated in different programs according to the seasons of the year and the need that is in the community. On Easter we provided posho/corn flour to Elderly, Vulnerable people, Widows and widowers. That was so efficient as everyone was have a smile on the face.
We have now entered into holiday section of schools and as usual, our main aim To keep a girl child in school. We always provide reusable pads but unfortunately every month, there are girl getting into teenage and it becomes complicated to figure out. Our program now for the holidays, we are looking for any well-wisher who could either donate linen for making because we have got a good semester or anyone to fundraise for reusable pads so that by 26/5/2025, we are ready to deliver them to schools.
We don't stop from, we have got a sewing machine already so if anyone could volunteer in training some of the community women how to make them, it would be better.
We do not necessarily need reusable pads only, even sanitary pads can apply if we get someone who can reach to that point. Last we had a group of Europeans who ordered for our Branded Tshirts of (RUHIJA COMMUNITY PROJECT BWINDI) and the proceeds provided reusable pads to Ruhija Primary School from P4_P7 each getting 2 pieces.
