The power of His Spirit
Ezekiel 37:9-10 (KJV): Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
The experience of the Prophet Ezekiel in our theme scripture is among the many illustrations of the power of the Holy Spirit.
Some Christians imagine that all the Holy Spirit does is give them utterance to speak in other tongues and demonstrate the power of God through the healing of the sick and other signs and miracles. But He can do many more great things than that.
He is a creative force. In our theme scripture, the wind of the Spirit brought an army of dry bones back to life. A vivid picture of this creative action is explained in Ezekiel 37:7-8. The Bible says that bone came together, bone to his bone; the sinews and the flesh came upon them and the skin covered them.
Imagine it for a moment. Skulls, looking for their vertebrae; spines finding their respective pelvises–bone to bone. Think about the formation of muscles, tendons, and skin growing on each of these skeletons.
This same Spirit lives in the inside of you.
What is cancer to Him? What situation do you feel is impossible that He cannot restore?
He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. If He created life yesterday, He still does so today. Hallelujah!
