As i was coming from work at midnight, I stumbled upon a sight that broke my heart. In a narrow trench, a pack of stray dogs huddled together, seeking refuge from the harsh weather. They were a mix of breeds, each with their own story of abandonment and hardship.
One puppy, no more than a few months old, lay motionless, its tiny body curled up against its mother's side. I approached cautiously, not wanting to startle them, and that's when I saw it - a deep graw on its leg, oozing with pus. The mother dog watched me warily, her eyes pleading for help.
These dogs had been living in these trenches for who-knows-how-long, scavenging for scraps and fighting for survival. They had no shelter, no food, and no medical care. The rain would pour down, flooding their makeshift home, and they'd be left shivering and wet. The sun would beat down, and they'd seek shade in the scorching heat.
I couldn't just walk away. I knew I had to do something. I started volunteering at a local animal shelter, and we began to rescue these dogs from the trenches. We provided them with food and medical care. We nursed the puppy back to health
But there are countless more dogs like them, living in trenches and streets, fighting for survival. They need our help. They need food, shelter, and medical care. They need love and compassion.
