๐Ÿšจ Urgent: Help Save Our Classroom in Nakivale! ๐Ÿšจ

The heavy rain is destroying our main classroom the place where refugee children and youth come to learn, create, and dream. The walls are almost collapsing, and if we donโ€™t act quickly, this safe space will be lost.

We are calling for emergency support. Every contribution big or small can help us repair and save this classroom before it falls.

Imagine a world where every youth and every woman is seen, heard, and given the chance to grow.

In Nakivale, that future is beginning today. Through bead craft training at Nakivale Young Talent Community Center, refugee youth and women are learning skills, rebuilding confidence, and turning creativity into opportunity.

Together with , we are proving that when communities are supported, dreams can rise again โ€” one skill, one bead, and one opportunity at a time.

Youth and women in our community are excited and ready to begin this life-changing journey of learning bead craft skills.

This program is more than just training โ€” it is about hope, creativity, and building a better future through skills and entrepreneurship.

We are deeply grateful to Mahaba Foundation for standing with refugee youth and women and for believing in the power of community-led initiatives. Together, we are creating opportunities, restoring dignity, and empowering dreams.

๐Ÿ’” Urgent Support Needed

Today we discovered that the youngest of the three brothers is sick, and sadly, they do not have the support to take him to the hospital.

We were able to provide some food and essentials, but right now his health is our biggest concern. No child should suffer simply because there is no transport or medical support available.

This is a call for every human with a heart. If you can support in any way โ€” especially toward medical care please stand with us.

Every contribution matters. Every share matters. Every prayer matters.

Together, we can make sure he gets the care he needs. ๐Ÿค

Every smile of a child reminds us that hope is still alive.

It reminds us that even in the middle of challenges, displacement, and hardship, there is still light waiting to grow.

At Nakivale Young Talent Community, we are inspired by these smiles every single day.
They are not just expressions of happiness they are signs of resilience, courage, and a future full of possibility.

A childโ€™s smile tells us that love can heal, education can transform, and the community can restore dignity.
It reminds us why we continue to dream, to serve, and to create safe spaces where young people can learn, express their talents, and believe in themselves again.

Because when children smile, the world feels softerโ€ฆ
and the future feels closer.
Letโ€™s keep building a world where every child has a reason to smile.

Since our last update on January 1st, where we introduced art classes and basic drawing and painting skills for the children at Nakivale, the program has continued to grow step by step. After learning how to express their feelings, hopes, and ideas through drawing, the children are now building on those skills through storytelling and story writing sessions.

This week, we focused on helping them put their thoughts into words. The children have been writing their own short stories based on their experiences, imagination, and dreams for the future. It has been encouraging to see how much their confidence has increased. Some who were shy during the first art sessions are now eager to read their stories aloud. The creativity and teamwork we began encouraging in the art classes are now clearly visible as they support one another and celebrate each otherโ€™s work.

In the previous update, I shared that I had become unwell with malaria, which greatly affected my strength and mobility. I am grateful that my health has now improved compared to that time. Recovering from malaria has not been easy, but the childrenโ€™s energy and excitement continue to give me strength and motivation to keep moving forward.

However, we are still facing a challenge with limited materials. As the children move into illustrating their written stories, we do not have enough paper and watercolor supplies for everyone to complete their work properly. This slows progress and limits full participation.

At this stage, we are seeking $250 to purchase essential materials such as papers and watercolors so that each child can illustrate their own story and successfully complete the storytelling project. These materials will allow the progress we began in January to continue smoothly and without interruption.

Any support, sharing, or encouragement makes a real difference. Thank you to everyone who continues to stand with this work and with the children of Nakivale.
