Aloysius, St. Helens, St. Lawrence and Ruti Moslem Primary School.These four schools have educated thousands of Mbarara city people and beyond many occupying areas in both public and private service. It is also the home of powerful secondary schools that are Maryhill High School and St. Joseph's Vocational School, these two power houses have also educated thousands of strong men and women. And recently it has a new University, of St. Joseph's located on Nyamitanga Hill. As the seat of Mbarara Archdiocese, Ruti ward is the location of Nyamitanga Cathedral, which is the iconic seat of Mbarara Archdiocese that streaches to boader with Kabale diocese, and up to the boarder with Tanzania. The Archdiocese is headed by the new Archbishop His Grace Bp Lambert Bainomugisha who also resides in the ward at Nyamitanga cell, Nyamitanga cell is home to many religious organizations with the most known among them being the sisters of Our Lady of Good Counsel. Ruti ward is turning into an industrial area, it's the location of Kazire Health drinks, a household health drinks company in East Africa, it's also the home of Lakeside Diary, Rufura Butchery and now Akaandi factory also producing health drinks. Ruti ward is also an area of developing small businesses that are very vital in creating employment especially for the youth and woman, these include among others, flower and tree bed nurseries, construction materials companies like Linda, Kinombe brick works both Kafunda and Kirehe cells, shops and markets both permanent and standard. These need serious uplifting. Ruti is the main trading center surburb of the ward and it's known for it's night life, a place of enjoyment, fun and also hosts nice hotels and bars.
