More updates about our transition program: at the beginning of this month, we shared videos of our team visiting our former slaughterhouse workers who decided to transition and leave their jobs in slaughterhouses. We partnered with Plenty Food International, who supported this cause. We provided these groups with education on planting organic food using methods that don’t require animal products. We supported them with education and provided them with garden equipment, trying to create jobs for them. This included both men and women, and those who didn’t have land to plant; we supported them with roadside stands to sell vegetables. Below are photos of some of our supported former slaughterhouse workers who planted the seeds we gave them. This transition is still ongoing, and we are still bringing more people to a veganic environment, but we can’t do it alone. 🚨 REMINDER: URGENT EMERGENCY APPEAL – Help Saved Pigs in Rural Uganda 🚨

On 8th April, we shared a critical appeal… but sadly, we have not yet received any donations toward this urgent cause.

💔 The situation is getting worse.
Heavy rains have destroyed shelters, and many rescued pigs are now sick, cold, and struggling to survive. Some have already lost their lives.

We cannot do this alone.
They need us NOW more than ever.

If you don't recognize being a vegan, Vgenasim will knock at your workplace, home, and meetings. This month, we decided to take our protest in our city, Mbale, where we sent our voices and message of compassion and veganism. We are making efforts until our voice is heard. We won't rest and we won't pull back. Animals need a voice because they are voiceless. We appreciate many of our EVC team who organized this event, which was supported by We The Free - Animal Rights. It's not yet time to let go of compassion.

Thank you to everyone who has been following us and those who have donated to us, enabling us to transition slaughterhouse workers to a vegan community. This project was sponsored by Plenty Food International. Thank you to those who have donated to our Transition GoFundMe. We aim to change lives and bring them into a passionate movement, to transition 35 slaughterhouse workers. So far, we have managed to transition some of them with gardening skills, seed support, garden tools, and organic manure production. In partnership with Plenty Food International, we have created sustainability and jobs for these former slaughterhouse workers. URGENT EMERGENCY APPEAL: Help Saved Pigs in Rural Uganda

Last year, we did it together! Thanks to your support, we constructed 40 safe, dry pigsties for pigs in need in rural Uganda, protecting them from the elements and giving them a new start.
NOW, THEY NEED US AGAIN.
Heavy rains have severely impacted our projects. Many precious animals have already lost their lives, and many more are sick, cold, and fighting for survival. Our resources are stretched to the limit, and we can’t handle this emergency alone.
💔 The situation is critical. We need funds immediately to provide:
✅ Emergency veterinary treatment.
✅ Structural repairs to damaged sties.

The vegan lifestyle has indeed brought about a positive impact on the environment and animal welfare.
