A woman is behind bars in Louisiana, USA after she shot and killed her 1-year-old child.

Kristin Bass killed the girl at a home on Quelqueshue Street on New Year’s Day, Sulphur Police Department spokesman Maj. Jason Gully said. Officers responded to the home after 8 p.m.

The victim’s father, Bradley Moss, identified her as Acelynn Moss.

Moss said he heard a boom and ran into the room to find Bass holding a gun. Acelynn had been shot, and their 2-year-old was crying for help.

“I almost lost two babies. I lost one because her mama wanted to send her to God. [My older daughter] said, ‘Help me, Daddy.’ And Kristin said, ‘I just sent our baby to God,’” Moss said. “She said, ‘Now I gotta get her.’”

Moss said the Department of Children and Family Services took custody of the older child.

Bass is jailed on a count of first-degree murder. Her bond was set at $10 million.

Police has arrested a 30-year-old man identified as Moses over the suspected murder of his girlfriend at Yamoah Nkwanta in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region. 😮

Moses visited the deceased, identified as Sister Yaa, to spend the night with her. However, a misunderstanding broke out between the two when the deceased denied the suspect s*x.

The suspect reportedly inflicted machete wounds on the deceased before dragging her out of her room and smashing her head with a concrete block, killing her instantly.
