JENGA Uganda

JENGA Uganda JENGA also aims to witness to the truth about Jesus Christ in a culturally sensitive manner. God bless you!

Improving the quality of life of the vulnerable and disadvantaged in the poorest communities, demonstrating the love of God in both words and actions through sustainable community development. JENGA focuses on providing the essentials of life such as water, sanitation, health and education to the most needy communities and targets women, children and orphans. JENGA was established as a Registered

Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in August 2005 and is rapidly growing with a number of Ugandan staff and unpaid international volunteers. JENGA UK was also registered in 2007 to provide assistance with administration and partner support in the UK. I invite you to check out our website and learn all about what we are doing in Uganda. If you should choose to support us, either through prayer or financial support, your involvement will be greatly appreciated.

For many years, has been a valued partner of JENGA, faithfully supporting and encouraging our work in Uganda.

Recently, they hosted a training conference and retreat in Mbale City for their African-based partners, with attendees travelling from Zimbabwe and across Uganda to take part.

It was a meaningful time of learning, collaboration, and sharing knowledge and experiences together 🤝✨

We were privileged to send two JENGA staff members, who returned encouraged, refreshed, and even more equipped to continue serving the communities we work alongside 🧡

❓Alpha Training 2026 🌱
We recently held our first Alpha training of 2026, welcoming 142 students from over 60 schools and university campuses.

Together with a designated teacher, these students help run weekly Alpha groups as an extracurricular activity within their schools and universities.

💬 These gatherings create a safe space for young people to explore faith, ask honest questions, and discuss some of life’s bigger questions together.

They also provide valuable leadership experience for the students helping to lead and organise the groups within their schools and campuses✨

A huge thank you to the JENGA team who continue to support, encourage, and follow up with the schools and students involved 🧡

🌿 Health & Wellness Training for Church Leaders 🌿

Last week, JENGA CDO, in partnership with Cosmos Alliance and the Mbale Church Elders Fellowship, hosted a Health & Wellness training focused on mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing.

👥 150 pastors and church leaders attended this important gathering.

The training included teaching from the JENGA Health team on:
🧠 The burden and causes of mental health challenges
🩺 Forms of mental illness and their signs/symptoms
⚖️ Stress management and work-life balance
⛪ The role of the Church in promoting mental wellbeing

Pastor Sam Macho led a session on heart transformation and inner wellbeing, encouraging leaders in their own spiritual journey.

Often, church leaders in Uganda receive very little input into their own personal wellbeing. This conference was created to support and strengthen them - as they continue to care for, serve, and pour into others 💛

This week we said a fond farewell to the wonderful Mr and Mrs Williams. Over the past 18 months, they have been such a valued part of our community, and they will be greatly missed.

Martin and Rachel have been faithful friends of Jenga for many years, so we know this isn’t truly goodbye—just “until next time.” We look forward to welcoming them back again in the future!

We recently had the privilege of welcoming an incredible group of visitors who travelled all the way from Perth, Australia. The team brought together members from ‘Without Walls,’ Church (one of our long-standing partners) and ‘Cosmos Alliance,’ whose generous support helps fund our community-based mental health project. Their two-week visit was packed with project visits and engaging training workshops.

We’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to the team for giving their time to come and be with us, it truly meant a lot and we loved every moment!

✨ Celebrating International Women’s Day! ✨

Today we celebrate the strength, resilience, and brilliance of women everywhere. From homes to classrooms and communities, women continue to shape our world with courage and commitment.

We also honour the countless women who are not only holding families together, nurturing homes and raising the next generation, but are also the primary breadwinners, working tirelessly to provide, uplift, and create opportunities for those around them.

At JENGA, we see this strength every day. Over 14,000 women are saving and supporting one another through our VSLA groups, enabling them to take small loans to start businesses, support their families, and pay school fees.

Your sacrifices are seen.
Your perseverance is inspiring.
Your impact is undeniable.

Here’s to the women who do it all - and to a world that fully recognises, supports, and celebrates them 🧡

🌟 Meet Wesley 🌟

After facing painful challenges at home, Wesley found himself living on the streets. This is a dangerous and uncertain reality that far too many children experience.

But thanks to JENGA and the compassion of supporters like you, Wesley’s story took a different turn ❤️

🏡 Today, Wesley is safe, cared for, and thriving.
He is now in P5 at a local school, enjoying his lessons and dreaming of a brighter future.

And this is the difference your support can make ✨

For £15 / $25 a month, you can help another child like Wesley know they are:
💛 Loved
📚 Educated
🛡️ Safe
🌱 Full of potential

If you feel moved to make a difference, you can sponsor a primary student and help rewrite a child’s future. We can give them the hope that they deserve
