A school in rural Uganda. A staff of 18 members .276 students. Two classrooms. A breakfast programme. A construction project. A commitment to restorative justice.
This is not a small story.

Empathy Community High School is the kind of institution that should not exist — according to the odds. According to geography, economics, and the infrastructure of Mayuge District. And yet here it is. Growing. Serving. Standing.

It exists because people believed it should. Donors. Volunteers. Teachers. The community. And the 276 students who chose to show up.

We are grateful. And we are not stopping.

When teacher salaries are funded consistently, something important happens: teachers stop worrying about money and start focusing fully on teaching. The quality of lessons improves. Student engagement increases. Accountability deepens.

Financial security for our staff is not a nice-to-have. It is a prerequisite for educational quality.

Your donation protects that. It protects 270 students from the consequences of an underpaid, financially stressed teaching team. It protects the school’s culture. It protects the mission.

🍵A Simple Breakfast, A Brighter Future

For many of our students at Empathy Community High School, breakfast is more than just the first meal of the day—it is the energy that helps them learn.

Many of the vulnerable children we serve walk long distances to school, often arriving on an empty stomach. Hunger made it difficult for them to concentrate in class, participate confidently, and stay focused until lunchtime.

Thanks to our breakfast program, every school day now begins with a warm meal. The difference has been remarkable. Students are more attentive in class, more energetic, and better prepared to learn.

This simple act of providing breakfast is helping remove one of the barriers to education and giving our students a better chance to succeed.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who supports this program and helps ensure that no child has to begin the school day hungry.

Together, we are nourishing minds, strengthening futures, and transforming lives—one breakfast at a time.

The new term has started, and all students have received new T-shirts as part of their uniforms! Each T-shirt color represents a house, and each house was named after remarkable people who have cared enough to help vulnerable children find a school they call hope. It is within these houses that competitions such as debates, quizzes, music, dance, and drama will take place. Thanks to our donors who have supported us so far! 🙏

This is what our classrooms look like! I am happy to say that we have started the process of installing doors and windows, and cementing the floors. I am glad that students will return for term two to a cemented and furnished classroom.

In rural Uganda, many children face barriers like poverty and long distances to school. We’re breaking those barriers—one student at a time. Education is the key! 🔑
