Successful Menstrual Hygiene Education Outreach at Markville Junior School, Nyendo - Masaka, Uganda 🇺🇬

On 30th May 2026, a new journey of empowerment began at Markville Junior School, continuing our mission to keep girls in school, confident, and unstoppable.

The Kisa Kya Mukama Outreach Foundation team was led by our Managing Director, Mr. Mulondo Nicholas who reaffirmed the organization's commitment to supporting girls’ education, dignity, and well‑being.

Through the Schools Menstrual Hygiene Education Campaign 2025/2026, we have now reached 8 schools across Masaka and Lwengo Districts, empowering 539 girls since September 2025.

Impact delivered:

a.Menstrual Hygiene Education - The session was led by our health worker, Ms. Naholoma Justine, where girls openly discussed menstrual hygiene management, breaking silence and stigma.

b. Hands on sessions: We conducted a practical demonstration on the proper use, washing, drying, and care of Kisa reusable sanitary pads, with visual illustrations to ensure clear understanding.

c. Distribution of Kisa Pads: 63 packs of Kisa reusable sanitary pads distributed to adolescent girls aged 12–16, each pack containing two pads designed to last a minimum of two years, representing dignity, confidence, and hope. A total of 126 Kisa pads were distributed to the adolescent girls

d. Counseling sessions: the sessions encouraged girls to stay confident, focused, and committed to their education, reminding them that menstruation should never be a barrier to their dreams.

e. Tree planting: Two mango fruit trees planted at the school premises, reinforcing our theme: “With dignity for her, and care for the earth.” Each tree stands as a reminder that empowerment and sustainability must grow side by side.

We extend heartfelt appreciation to our partners Angels for Brazil & Africa - A 501c3 Non-Profit Organization for their generosity and commitment. Through your support, young girls are empowered with dignity, confidence, and hope for a brighter future.

At Kisa Kya Mukama Outreach Foundation, we are building a future where no girl is left behind, and every child can rise with hope. This is our struggle to end period poverty and restore dignity for every girl.

One of the most touching moments of the Menstrual Hygiene Education Outreach at Kikonge Primary School was simply sitting down and sharing a meal with the students and teachers

In that moment, it was about connection. Laughter filled the air, smiles were shared freely and for a while we were all just one family gathered around a meal.

These are the moments that stay with us and remind us why we do what we do. Because sometimes the greatest impact is found in the simplest acts of love, presence and togetherness.

Providing scholastic materials and meals alongside menstrual hygiene education addresses multiple barriers to learning at once. In Uganda, where 30–40% of rural learners lack basic supplies and 45% of children face chronic malnutrition, combining academic resources with nutrition ensures that students are not only present in class but also able to concentrate and participate meaningfully

We also planted trees at the school premises to reinforce the project theme; "With dignity for her and care for the earth"

Kisa Kya Mukama Outreach Foundation conducted a successful Menstrual Hygiene Education outreach at Kikonge Primary School in Lwengo District, Uganda where we distributed 60 Kisa reusable sanitary pads (Kisa Pads) to 30 adolescent girls aged 13–18 years.

We also conducted menstrual hygiene education for adolescent girls and held counseling sessions to encourage children to stay in school. The session was led by our health worker, Ms. Naholoma Justine and covered interactive health talks with open discussions on menstruation, breaking myths and taboos as well as practical demonstrations on how to use and safely clean Kisa Pads.

Our partners AWE Engineers and Y’s Men International generously provided scholastic materials including books and pens to the students. Many learners in rural schools lack these basic materials which limits their ability to take notes and fully participate in lessons. This support will help them engage better in class.

This donation of books and pens complemented the Menstrual Hygiene Education Campaign by addressing broader barriers to learning and retention.

As part of our commitment to sustainability we planted trees within the school premises reinforcing the theme: “With dignity for her and care for the Earth.”

The outreach was graced by Queen Angelica (1st Runners-Up Mini Little Miss Uganda) and Queen Martina (Little Miss Uganda Ambassador) who inspired the learners.

We sincerely appreciate Angels for Brazil & Africa - A 501c3 Non-Profit Organization for their support and our friends Niels Van Opzeeland and Peter Kulaba for their generosity.

Our mission goes beyond product innovation. Through our Menstrual Health Management program, we deliver hands‑on training to girls in rural schools and to vulnerable women, equipping communities with knowledge, skills, and sustainable menstrual solutions.

By combining education with access to Kisa reusable pads, we’re tackling period poverty at its roots, ensuring girls can pursue education without interruption and women can manage their health with dignity.

Together, we’re creating lasting change.

We are proud to announce the Girls Outreach Program – School Dropouts Edition at Sacred Heart Primary School Kyamusansala on 20th January 2026, under the Schools Menstrual Hygiene Education Program.

Unlike typical school-based initiatives, this edition is uniquely designed to reach girls who have dropped out of school. These young women often face compounded challenges: limited access to menstrual hygiene products, stigma, and the loss of educational opportunities. By focusing on them, we aim to restore dignity, confidence, and pathways back to learning.

Program Highlights:

a. Menstrual Hygiene Education: Tailored sessions that empower girls with practical knowledge and confidence to manage their health.

b. Distribution of Kisa Pads: Providing sustainable menstrual products to reduce barriers and encourage re‑enrollment or vocational training.

c. Re‑connection to Education: Encouraging girls to see education as still within reach, despite past setbacks.

d. Community Dialogue: Breaking stigma by involving parents, teachers, and leaders in open conversations about menstrual health and girls’ rights.

This program is made possible through the generous support of Angels for Brazil and Africa. Their commitment ensures that vulnerable girls are not left behind.

Why This Edition Matters:
Menstrual hygiene programs often focus on girls currently in school. By turning our attention to school dropouts, we are addressing an urgent gap — ensuring that those most at risk of being excluded from education are given the tools, hope, and support to reclaim their future.

Together, we can create a future where every girl, whether in school or out, has the chance to learn, thrive, and lead.

Christmas With the Kids | A memorable day🎄

On 25th December 2025, we shared a precious and unforgettable moment with the children we sponsor and others from the community. It was more than a meal, it was a moment of love, laughter, and togetherness.

We sat together, ate together, and shared joy together, just as Jesus taught us, loving, giving, and welcoming every child with an open heart. For a few beautiful hours, worries faded, smiles grew wider, and the true meaning of Christmas came alive.

Moments like these remind us that sometimes the greatest gift isn’t what’s wrapped, but the love we share. Take a look and celebrate these special memories with us.

Thank you to everyone who made Christmas with the Kids a day to remember
