I went home this weekend just to check on my gardens. π±
I came back carrying something much heavier. π
Down the road from my mother's house five children. Their parents died in a motor accident. Their grandmother, the one who held them together after that, passed away recently too.
By the time I got there, there was no adult home. Just a 15-year-old boy, out looking for food for his younger brothers and sisters.
A child, playing parent. Because someone has to. π₯Ί
It's school season. Every other child is in uniform right now. These five are home not because they don't want to learn, but because there's no one left to pay their fees.
This is exactly why Jael Foundation exists. We're grassroots. We're self-funded. And we will not walk past this. π
Here's what we're stepping in to cover:
π« School fees + supplies for this term
π A month of food while their brother adjusts
π©Ί A health check for all five kids
Even $35 = one term of school fees for one child. π
