🌱 STEM for Peace and Innovation in Our Rural Community

We are empowering students at Kangai secondary School, one of our innovation schools in our rural community in Dokolo district to embrace STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) as a tool for solving real social challenges around them.

Through our Innovation Bootcamp, students recycle waste, use drones to map land boundaries and reduce conflicts, and add value to local fruits by applying STEM to address environmental, peace, and food security challenges.

This initiative is not just about science; it’s about building confidence, teamwork, leadership, and peace. By equipping young people with problem-solving skills, we are nurturing a generation of innovators who will transform their communities from within.

The future is local. The future is innovative. The future starts with our youth.

🌸Innovation Through Empowerment: Supporting Girls to Stay in School 🌸

Meet Akello, a young innovator who has been affected by the increased school drop out of her fellow girls and so she has decided to contribute to making a real difference by producing reusable sanitary pads to support fellow girls in schools. Through this initiative, Akello is addressing one of the major causes of school dropout among girls as lack of access to safe and affordable menstrual products in the rural communities .

With reusable sanitary pads, girls are able to attend school confidently, with dignity, and without interruption to their education.

We are calling on you to support Akello’s business project so that the Girls’ Entrepreneurship Club can produce more sanitary pads and reach even more girls who need them. Your support will not only keep girls in school but also nurture girls’ entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership.

✨ This is one of the approaches that Athena is taking to empower young entrepreneurs to turn their visions into reality while addressing social issues in our communities.
