This is part of our sensitization programme โ€” a public health education initiative carried out in remote villages and communities in Northern Uganda.

Through these sessions, we work with community members to raise awareness about disability, reduce stigma, and share knowledge on prevention, early identification, and available support services.

By engaging directly with communities, we help create a more informed, inclusive, and supportive environment for children with disabilities and their families.๐Ÿ˜

Acio Ruth (left) is pictured here with her mother.

She is a former patient at Foundation - Uganda, and has successfully completed her rehabilitation at our centre. Today, she is one of eight students supported through our secondary school scholarship programme.

Acio Ruth is currently enrolled at St. Kathrineโ€™s Girlsโ€™ School in Lira โ€” a major milestone on her journey toward independence and opportunity.

Her story is a powerful reminder that with the right support, rehabilitation can open doors far beyond recovery.

Celebrating Ability, Not Disability!
Yesterday, Adina Foundation Uganda proudly joined the rest of the world in commemorating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. It was a day filled with joy, inspiration, and togetherness.
Children shared powerful stories that reminded us of resilience and hope. Our Center Manager offered heartfelt words of encouragement, uplifting every soul present. We cut cake as a symbol of unity and celebration.
And the highlightโ€”gifting childrenโ€”brought smiles that lit up the entire celebration.
At Adina Foundation Uganda, we believe every child deserves to be celebrated, empowered, and embraced for their unique abilities. Yesterday was not just an eventโ€”it was a reminder that inclusion creates stronger communities and brighter futures.
Together, letโ€™s continue to break barriers, spread love, and champion the rights of persons with disabilities.
