THE HONOURABLE LESSON – A Feature Film by Lango Filmmakers Association (LAFA)
📅 Call Dates: 28th July – 1st August 2025
🎭 Audition Date: Saturday, 2nd August 2025
📍 Audition Venue: LAFA Offices, Lira City

Lango Filmmakers Association is pleased to announce the official CAST CALL for our upcoming feature film titled “THE HONOURABLE LESSON.” This powerful village drama is part of our ongoing contribution to unity, storytelling, and the rebuilding of Lango through cinema.

We are looking for talented actors and actresses of all ages to join this inspiring project:

🎬 CAST REQUIREMENTS:
Age Range: 7 to 80 years old

Gender: All

Language: Luo (Lango dialect) preferred, but not mandatory

Experience: All levels welcome (New faces encouraged!)

Priority: Members of the Lango Filmmakers Association (LAFA)

Casting Call Opens: 28th July 2025

Casting Call Closes: 1st August 2025

Audition Date: Saturday, 2nd August 2025
Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

We are deeply honored to have had an audience with His Royal Highness Eng. Dr. Michael Moses Odongo Okune, the Won Nyaci (Paramount Chief of Lango), where we discussed ways to collaborate in promoting culture and strengthening the film industry in the Lango sub-region.

This momentous meeting was made possible through the support of Dr. Hamza, and the Office of the Minister for Performing Arts and Entertainment in the Won Nyaci Cabinet. We are grateful for your belief in LAFA’s vision and commitment to empowering creative voices.

Lango Filmmakers Association Launches to Empower Creatives and Preserve Culture Through Film

Lango Filmmakers Association (LAFA), a Community-Based Organisation, is officially opening its doors to unite and support all filmmakers from across the Lango Sub-region.

LAFA’s mission is to provide a platform for collaboration, education, and storytelling, especially among youth and underrepresented voices. The association aims to develop regional talent, promote cultural identity through film, and contribute to economic growth in the creative industry.

"Our stories deserve to be told by us, through our own lens," says Francis Ageta - President. "With LAFA, we’re creating a home for Lango’s film visionaries."

LAFA invites filmmakers, students, media professionals, and cultural advocates to join and participate in upcoming workshops, festivals, and film productions.
