Today marked a powerful step forward for Cohort 2 at UBUCHANGE.
What once started as training and vision is now turning into real action. We proudly distributed startup kits to 40 of our salespreneurs—equipping them not just with tools, but with confidence, purpose, and the ability to start earning.
Each kit handed over represents more than materials. It represents a new beginning, a door opening to financial independence, and a step closer to building a strong community of women entrepreneurs.
From learning to doing, from dreaming to building—Cohort 2 is officially on the move.

At UBUCHANGE , 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥: 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 10,000 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐲 2030.

As part of this mission, we are proud to introduce our Crochet Class, a program that equips refugee women with 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭-𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬.

Today marked the beginning of a new chapter at UBUCHANGE the launch of Cohort 2
It wasn’t just the start of another group. It was the continuation of a vision empowering more women, creating more opportunities, and building something that lasts.
From the very first moments, the energy was different. New faces, new dreams, and the same strong mission: grow, learn, and become.
But while one journey begins, another moves forward.
On the ground, our Banana Bark department stepped into action
They went out into the field, not just to observe, but to connect to understand where and how to source quality banana bark, the raw material at the heart of our production.
It was a day of movement.
A day of beginnings and exploration.
A day where learning met action.
Because at UBUCHANGE, we don’t just teach we build, we explore, and we create impact from the ground up. Cohort 2 has started… and the journey is already alive

UBUCHANGE Implementation project
The journey of Cohort 01 at UBUCHANGE began with community outreach to identify and engage motivated individuals. After a careful selection process, chosen learners participated in a 5-day soft skills training to build confidence and essential professional abilities.
They then moved into hands-on hard skills training, where they developed practical competencies and contributed to the creation of the first products. Following this, a final assessment was conducted to select the most committed and skilled participants.
These selected individuals are now producers, representing the success of the program and a key step toward empowerment and sustainable impact. Thank you to our partner and .coalition Coalition for making this first step a success

𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐠𝐨, 𝐔𝐁𝐔𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫, 𝐮𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬.
Today, that dream is alive. It breathes through 170 women who found their strength as salespreneurs, through 50 jobs that brought dignity and independence, and through collective products that turned creativity into opportunity.
This journey has not been just about numbers, but about people stories of courage, resilience, and hope rising against the odds. Every step, every challenge, every small win has shaped who we are today.
UBUCHANGE is more than an organization. It is a movement a community where potential is discovered, voices are heard, and futures are built together.
As we celebrate this first anniversary, we don’t just look back at what we’ve achieved we look forward to the lives we will continue to impact.
This is only the beginning.

But beyond the skills, her story is one of personal growth.

We had the honor of welcoming two outstanding leaders: Kibonge Balanga , Project Manager of Local Initiative for Intregrated Development LIID , and 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐄𝐌𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐊𝐄, 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 Local Initiative for Intregrated Development LIID. Their visit was more than just a meeting it was a powerful moment of exchange, where ideas, experiences, and hopes for community empowerment came together.

Through meaningful discussions, we explored ways to strengthen collaboration and create more opportunities for our salespreneurs, especially women and youth who are building their future with courage and determination

Their presence reminded us that real change happens when passionate leaders unite for a common purpose
