🌿 Exciting Partnership Announcement! 🌿

We are thrilled to announce that RESDA AFRICA has partnered with AVSI Foundation under the “WE WORK – Green and Decent Jobs for Youths” project! 💪✨

This transformative initiative aims to improve the livelihoods of vulnerable youth, women, and girls in Kyegegwa and Kabarole districts. Through this partnership, RESDA AFRICA is providing hands-on training in two key value chains — Poultry and Horticulture 🌱🐔.

Participants will gain:
✅ Practical vocational and agribusiness skills
✅ Startup capital to launch their enterprises
✅ Market linkages and access to business opportunities
✅ Ongoing mentorship and support for sustainability

This project is funded by the European Union and the Belgian Development Cooperation, through Enabel – the Belgian Development Agency.

We’ve kicked off our Tower Gardening Program in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement, recruiting farmers to transform lives through sustainable agriculture!

What’s Happening?
We’re forming groups of 20 farmers each to establish nursery beds and receive training on best practices, thanks to the incredible support from the USANA Foundation
Impact:
This initiative will reach 500 new households and continue supporting 800 existing households, empowering communities with skills and resources for food security and economic growth.

At RESDA AFRICA's ECD center in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement, we're not just educating children - we're empowering entire families! 🤝 Recently, our team conducted a parent meeting to discuss:

✨ Creating a supportive learning environment
✨ Sustainability strategies for our programs

Our program manager and education coordinator shared valuable insights on children's rights, positive parenting, and financial stability through saving groups. 🌿 Parents also learned about sustainable food sources like kitchen gardens and fruit trees. 🥕

proudly participated in the World Refugee Day 2025 celebrations held today, 24th June 2025, at Itambabininga Primary School, Kyaka II Refugee Settlement under the global theme:
"Solidarity with Refugees"

This year’s event was truly special — well-attended at a high level, with meaningful participation from both refugees and host nationals, who showcased powerful dances, music, and art in solidarity. Unlike previous years, nationals were given more space to express their support through culture and creativity.

We are deeply honored that RESDA AFRICA received a Certificate of Recognition from UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency and the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) — a reflection of our continued commitment to inclusive humanitarian response.

The event brought together diverse stakeholders including Refugee-Led Organizations (RLOs), implementing partners, community members, and government representatives. The Guest of Honour, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kyegegwa District, emphasized the importance of unity and local leadership in shaping durable solutions.
We celebrate this day as a reminder of our shared responsibility to stand with refugees — not just in words, but through action, inclusion, and respect.
