RESDA AFRICA was very happy to participate in the monitoring exercise conducted by the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) together with implementing partners in livelihoods . The visit brought together different partners to monitor and learn from the projects being implemented in the community.
During the monitoring, we showcased our Tower Gardening Project, where we support refugees and host communities to use the small land available around their homes to grow vegetables and have something to eat through our tower gardening approach. We also presented our Training Center, where women and youth are empowered with vocational skills to become self-reliant and improve their livelihoods.
We are grateful for the guidance, support, and coordination from OPM and all implementing partners. The monitoring exercise gave us an opportunity to learn from other organizations, share experiences, and strengthen collaboration in supporting refugees and host communities.
Together, we continue working towards empowerment, self-reliance, and sustainable livelihoods for our communities. Thank you to all partners for the continued support and teamwork. We are proud to celebrate a major milestone for the learners we have been supporting in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement! 🎉 supported by AVSI Foundation with funding from Enabel
Our youth and women trainees have successfully completed their UVTAP national assessment—an important step toward receiving recognized national certificates that will open doors for their future livelihoods.
Over the past six months, we have trained them in poultry and horticulture value chains using a “work as you earn” approach, where learning goes hand-in-hand with practical implementation. This has empowered participants to apply their skills in real time and build confidence in their abilities.
At RESDA AFRICA, we remain committed to empowering refugee youth and women through knowledge, skills development, and active participation in decision-making.
