We thank God for giving us the nice challenge as the family of God at Nakateete Baptist church,the number of church members is increasing almost every time,and they lack where to sit during our gatherings and worship fellowships,We are requesting u to pray for us at Nakateete Baptist church ,we need to build the church building with measurements of 60 to 30 feet worthy 40 millions Uganda shillings,pray for God's provisions so that God's children can get where to fellowship and worship comfortably.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22

*Superior Rod Conquered*
Exodus 7:12-13

*“Each one threw down His staff and it became a snake, but Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staff.”* Exodus 7:12-13

A rod is the shoot or long twig of any wooden plant, a branch or the stem of a shrub and it is used as an instrument of punishment or correction (Webster’s dictionary 1828). Shepherds used rods to direct and tame their animals and to protect them from dangerous animals. Rods were handled by an experienced shepherds who know when and how to use them.

The shepherd’s rod in the hands of Moses was a symbol of God’s authority. He used it to demonstrate God’s power which was beyond the ordinary rod that Pharaoh and his sorcerers used in deceiving themselves. The rod turning into a snake and swallowing up the other snakes was evidence of God’s presence with Moses and Aaron, and His supremacy over Pharaoh’s rebellious act.

The Lord can also turn your own rod into instruments of power and praise. Your rod could be your working tools, certificates, intelligence, skill, talent, calling and spiritual gifts. They can become powerful and superior means by which God will defeat the works of the devil and establish His righteousness on the earth. Don’t despise what you have but surrender it to God for His use and glory.

*Insight:* God can empower and use you as instrument of power and praise in your generation.

*Prayer:* Lord Jesus, may my life reflect who You are as I fulfilling Your purpose on earth.

SATURDAY, JULY 13

*Be Alert and Vigilant* 1 Peter 5:8-11

*“Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”* 1Peter 5:8

To be sober means to behave in an orderly manner so as not to be influenced by anything that leads us away from God’s truth. To be vigilant means “to keep careful watch for possible danger or difficulties.” A vigilant person actively pays attention to what can cause distraction and what affects his heart and mind.

Peter exhorts the believers to be alert and self-controlled due to the prowling activities of the devil. He reveals that the devil’s ultimate plan is to devour believers and cause their total downfall. However, he offers the solution to overcome the devil. He is to be resisted by standing firm in the faith. He concluded that God will make His grace available to restore, strengthen and keep us steadfast after seasons of trials of our faith.

The devil seeks to destroy our faith. He wants to make us fearful and lies to distort our understanding of God's ability to keep us. He comes as a roaring lion, seeking to shipwreck the faith of many Christians through fear, anxiety, worry, and depression, rendering us powerless as ambassadors for Christ. We must be vigilant in the spirit and be strong in our faith and in the truth of the God’s Word to combat our enemy.

*Insight:* Just as the devil is restlessly seeking our downfall, we must be spiritually alert to stand firm.

*Prayer:* Lord Jesus, help me to stay alert and keep my guard to resist the devil in the power of your Word by faith.

*HOW TO OVERCOME WORRY*

Worry is having faith in your fears. Everyone has fears - a state of uncertainty of what might or might not happen.

_An average young girl worries that she may not be loved by someone important to her, young men worry that their girlfriends would be taken up by somebody else, bridegroom worries that he might not properly fulfill the conjugal obligations, the bride worries that she may not conceive, students worry that their career may not be a success, on and on...._

*Matthew 6:27* _"Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?"_

Worry is like a rotating office chair. It gives you something to do but takes you no where

Worry is like a pollulated stream which you allow to flow through your mind drowning hope, faith and optimism.

Worry is practical Atheism. Worry casts God out of control of your life and puts in you in charge. Worrying is putting yourself on the throne of God as an in-charge to run your life.

Stop worrying and start living. Don't worry about your past, it is forgiven and forgotten. Don't worry about your present, do something about it, that can change the state of affairs. Don't worry about your future, God is in charge of your life and everything around you. Believe in Him and trust that He will lead you to victory.

You need three qualities of life to overcome fear:

*Faith* _(Power_), comes from knowledge of the Word of God (Rom. 10:17)
*Grace*, given by God when you get saved (Titus 2:11)
*Wisdom*, given by God when you put Him first (Prov 4:7)

This is the attitude you should hold and should be your Prayer everyday to overcome worry:

*_Lord God give me the power of faith to confront what I can change, the Grace to withstand what I cannot change and the wisdom to know the difference._*

MONDAY, JULY 8

*Promise of Victory* Isaiah 54:14 – 17

*“No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me” declares the Lord.”* Isaiah 54:17

The man who has the fear of God within his heart need have no fear of anybody else. “Fear him ye saints, and you will then have nothing else to fear; make his service your delight. He’ll make your wants his care.” Charles Spurgeon

In today’s text, there are six promises from God to His people. One, they will be established in righteousness; two, they will have nothing to fear; three, terror will be far from them. Others are, their attackers will surrender to them, no weapon formed against them will prosper and they will successfully overcome all false accusations. These promises are made possible because they are the heritage of God’s people and servants.

The believer has been made the righteousness of God in Christ and he is not only helped and saved by God, but also has the authority and responsibility to condemn any tongue that rises against him in judgment. Whatever weapon is raised against God’s people is destined to be destroyed. The enemy may slander us but because of God’s righteousness, love, and faithfulness, He will defend and protect us. God is committed to fulfilling all His promises to you as you maintain your righteous walk with Him. Therefore, your victory is guaranteed in the Lord.

*Insight:* Victory is sure for those who belong to God and believe His promises.

*Prayer:* Thank you, Father, for your promise of victory and I believe I am victorious in Christ through His faithfulness.
