ONE INVESTMENT. A THOUSAND FUTURES UNLOCKED.

For too long, deaf children and persons with disabilities have been excluded not just from opportunities, but from communication, education, and participation in society.

Today, that begins to change.

LIDIT is launching two transformative initiatives, REDEEM (Revolutionizing Deaf Education & Empowerment through Multimedia) and ENRICH (Empowerment through Enterprise Development for Alternative Livelihoods for Deaf Youths in Koboko); with Funding from Kanthari Swiss Foundation.

From creating sign language learning content by deaf youth themselves to connecting skills with real economic opportunities, this is about building a system where inclusion is not an idea, but a reality.

Because when communication is unlocked, everything changes.

We are building this with communities, for communities and we invite you to be part of it.

Join us. Support inclusion. Be part of the change.

Special Gratitude to Kanthari Swiss Foundation.

Thank you for amplifying the voices of inclusion.

15 vulnerable youth have completed a three month hands on skills training under the RETI Project, co implemented with Muni University and partners.

Through LIDIT’s SIGNO Center, they gained practical skills in Liquid Soap Production and Salon and Hairdressing and have undergone assessment with UVTAB, opening pathways to income and independence.

So far, 35 youth have been supported and we are expanding this impact under the EU funded SUIDAC Project in Koboko.

We welcome support in tools, equipment and resources to strengthen the SIGNO Center and create more opportunities.

We’re excited to share some great news! 🎉

LIDIT has been selected as a sub-grantee Community-Based Organization under the SUIDAC Project in Koboko Municipality and Arua City.

With funding from the European Union through Cities Alliance and technical support from ACAV, this partnership is all about building stronger, more inclusive communities.

LIDIT will work closely with communities to support the Koboko Model—focusing on participation, engagement, and ensuring that local voices are heard and valued. Together with Koboko Municipality, we are committed to making sure no one is left behind.

This is a big step forward, and we’re excited for the journey ahead! 💙

Communication opens doors to participation, dignity, and opportunity.

Light for Disability Transformation (LIDIT) is offering training in Ugandan Basic Sign Language to strengthen communication accessibility and promote inclusion for deaf individuals across Uganda. Through this program, participants will gain practical skills that help bridge communication gaps in communities, workplaces, schools, and public services.

When more people learn sign language, inclusion becomes a shared responsibility and accessibility becomes part of everyday life. Each person trained becomes part of a growing effort to ensure that deaf individuals are seen, understood, and fully included in society.

Every child deserves to be heard. Every service should be accessible. Join LIDIT in building an inclusive future, one sign at a time.

Apply today and be part of the change.
