As Second Term Begins, Blessings for Batwa Organization Is Feeding Hope
Second term has begun, and at Batwa community schools, children are walking in with full hearts _and_ full plates.
Through the Blessings for Batwa Organization lunch program, pupils are now served a warm, nutritious meal of posho, beans, and cabbage every school day. For many Batwa children, this may be the only solid meal they eat.
Blessings for BATWA Organization also pays school fees for BATWA children and other related less privileged groups.
The Batwa are Uganda’s indigenous forest people. After being evicted from their ancestral lands, many families face extreme poverty, food insecurity, and barriers to education. Hunger often forces children to miss school or sit in class too weak to learn.
This is what Blessings for Batwa Organization is doing:
- Removing hunger as a barrier to education: A full plate means a child can concentrate, participate, and stay in school.
- Improving health and attendance: Regular meals boost nutrition and keep pupils coming back daily.
- Restoring dignity: By ensuring Batwa children eat with their peers, the program fights stigma and builds community.
- Investing in the future: Well-fed children learn better, dream bigger, and grow into leaders for the Batwa people.
Every plate served is more than food – it’s a chance for a Batwa child to read, write, and rewrite their story.
Thank you to all supporters making this possible. Together, we’re proving that blessings shared become futures built.
