🌹 With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Joan Amek, the Executive Director of Rella Women’s Foundation.

Joan was a force to be reckoned with. A fierce advocate, visionary leader, and tireless champion for women’s rights and LGBTQ+ dignity in Uganda. Her commitment to justice, compassion, and economic empowerment touched countless lives and served as an inspiration.

This is a devastating loss to her family, friends, and the human rights movement. We mourn deeply but celebrate her legacy of courage, empathy, and transformation.

May her soul rest in power. ❤️
