The Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) is disturbed by the continued detention of journalist Frank Bwekumbule with Impact FM, allegedly on Ms. Justine Nameere's orders!
Bwekumbule has been held at Masaka CPS since Tuesday when he was arrested and detained.
He is accused of having taken a video recording of one Cissy Nanyange, a coffee seedlings supplier in Masaka, who claim that Nameere had defaulted, paying her for the seedlings supplied to her during campaigns.
Bwekumbule's detention is viewed as an attempt to shield some leaders from public accountability, which is unacceptable.
UJA therefore, demands that he un conditionally be released or produced before Court if is suspected to have committed any crime.
UJA stands in solidarity with Bwekumbule and will keep the fight on in ensuring that he regains his freedom.
