Our Executive Director took a moment to donate blood — a powerful act of compassion that will help save the lives of patients in urgent need. He made this donation while mourning the passing of Mrs. Biira Maureen, who tragically succumbed to postpartum haemorrhage at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital on Thursday.

Her loss is a painful reminder of how critical blood availability is, especially for mothers and other vulnerable patients. We therefore call upon everyone to make blood donation a regular commitment. One unit of blood can be the difference between life and death.

Let us honour her memory by giving the gift of life. Donate blood. Save lives.

The Hustles of an African Orphan: Meet Jostus Kule

On my journey from Fort Portal, I met a young boy in Hima whose story deeply moved me Jostus Kule, an orphan fighting daily for survival.

Jostus collects empty plastic bottle waste from the streets and carries it, sometimes in sacks twice his size, to a nearby waste collection point. There, he earns just a few shillings per kilogram barely enough for a meal. His hustle, done with silent strength and determination, is a powerful reflection of resilience in the face of hardship.

But no child should have to walk this journey alone.

Because of his vulnerability and unwavering spirit, we are pleased to announce that Jostus Kule will be officially admitted as a beneficiary of RWEO INITIATIVE UGANDA.

Through our support, he will now access the care, mentorship, and opportunities every child deserves starting with basic needs, education, and emotional support.
