BIIRA AGNES THE MOTHER BEHIND THE STORY

Every symbol has a story.

The story of ya-mama Cultural Center begins with a mother Biira Agnes, whose love and strength inspired a vision to celebrate the mothers, culture, and communities of the Rwenzori foothills.

Our official logo is inspired by the traditional basket carried by Bakonzo mothers on their backs. The basket carries more than food and harvests it carries our culture, our stories, our mothers’ strength, and our connection to nature.

Today, we proudly introduce the official identity of ya-mama Cultural Center inspired by mothers, rooted in culture, and connected to nature.

The basket has a story. It is time to tell it to the world.

IT STARTS WITH ME! — SAY NO TO KAVEERA!

📢 VOLUNTEERS MARATHON 2026 – PRESS CONFERENCE & FUNDRAISING

The One Million Trees Through Sports Initiative, together with the Volunteers Marathon, is organizing a community fundraising activity on 9th October 2026 in Ibanda, Kyanya Town Council.

Contribution:
• General – UGX 3,000
• VIP – UGX 5,000, including a bottle of our sponsor’s drink, which will be promoted through the Volunteers Marathon.

All contributions will support the Kamaiba Soccer Academy girls in their effort to secure their own piece of land, where they can establish a permanent Eco Food Garden.

The girls have shown great commitment to growing food, protecting the environment, and empowering themselves. With their own land, they will have a safe and lasting place to grow food, learn sustainable farming, and create opportunities for income.

The event will also feature football activities and performances by local artists.

A Moment to Remember!

On the day we unveiled the One Million Trees Through Sports Initiative, featuring the Volunteers Marathon 2026, we donated 4 King of Sweetness (jackfruit) trees to the Rwenzori National Park .

It was a wonderful moment to see the staff at the Rwenzori National Park Gateway warmly welcome and support our initiative.

Let's Help the Girls of Kamaiba Soccer Academy Own Their Land

We thank everyone who prayed for the girls of Kamaiba Soccer Academy. Your prayers and encouragement have helped them rise again, and today their eco food garden is growing well.

Now, let's take the next step together by helping them secure their own land, so they never have to lose their garden again.

Through the One Million Trees Through Sports initiative featuring volunteers Marathon 2026 we believe that when our community says YES, we can make this dream a reality.

Today, the Volunteers Marathon 2026 team visited St. Matia Mulumba Primary School, the first school where we launched our school waste management program in 2025.

Since then, the initiative has grown, and we have established five Environmental Clubs while working with three Nature Clubs in different schools to promote environmental conservation and responsible waste management.

During our visit, we checked on the progress of the school's Nature Club and learned how they are managing waste. Together with the students, we carried out a school clean-up, making the school environment cleaner and healthier for everyone.

We also held an engaging discussion on community waste management, proper waste disposal, environmental responsibility, and the important role young people can play in creating cleaner and greener communities.

We are proud of the commitment shown by the students.

Football has the power to bring communities together, and trees help keep our playgrounds greener, cooler, and healthier for everyone.

One of the highlights of the unveiling of the One Million Trees Through Sports initiative was sharing the football pitch with our community. Every smile, every pass, and every goal reminded us that sport can unite people while protecting our environment.
